- Support Nice pic, I love the bright colours of the lighthouse. I think it is a tiny bit soft, but otherwise very good. Cmao20 (talk) 19:43, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- Support Nice light, great compo, indeed the sharpness is not at FP level but still compensated by the wow. I suggest to apply some selective sharpening to the lighthouse Poco a poco (talk) 20:20, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Oppose Not sharp enough, and I don't get a wow from this. I feel like a little more space in front of the lighthouse could improve the composition.-- Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:58, 30 August 2020 (UTC)Oppose Not sharp enough, and more space at the top and bottom would help. -- King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 02:24, 31 August 2020 (UTC)- Weak support Nice picture, but I agree with Ikan Kekek and King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ that more space would improve it. —Percival Kestreltail (talk) 02:37, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per others.--Peulle (talk) 08:54, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
Oppose per Ikan--StellarHalo (talk) 15:55, 31 August 2020 (UTC)- Neutral Better now but I prefer a sharper lighthouse --StellarHalo (talk) 09:26, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose Very good motive but not sharp enough.--Ermell (talk) 21:36, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
- Comment When I took this image, I was on the Hurtigruten MS Lofoten, a ship with no stabilizers on an open sea with a brisk wind coming from the west. I was mostly trying to hang on…😊. In terms of composition, I was not thinking the way many of you are but I appreciate your perspectives. I have to go to work shortly. Give me a day to address the issues your raise and I will ping all of you when I have a new version uploaded.
- Oppose per unsharpness. Daniel Case (talk) 01:26, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Comment @Cmao20: @Poco a poco: @Ikan Kekek: @King of Hearts: @Kestreltail: @Peulle: @Ermell: @StellarHalo: @Daniel Case:
- I went with a horizontal crop to emphasize the inter-play of the man-made lighthouse surrounded by nature’s elements of land, sea and clouds. Ikan’s idea, supported by King of Hearts, of having more water and cloud space definitely helps. Have also incorporated selective sharpening of the lighthouse as mentioned by Poco and others. Overall, I like this version better.
- Comment I like it a lot better, but it's still a bit soft, so though I like it now, I still doubt it's one of the very best photos on the site. That said, I have struck out my opposition. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:22, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Support now. --Ivar (talk) 16:07, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Support Still not very sharp but relatively high resolution, very good light, and the composition now is excellent -- Basile Morin (talk) 01:50, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Weak support Colours, light, composition are very good now, it’s just a pitty that the lighthouse is somewhat soft. --Aristeas (talk) 08:51, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
