Context
Collaboration with the Escola d'Art i Disseny Tarragona (EADT) School of Art and Design of Tarragona in english, is part of the initiative to involve art & design schools in the Wikimedia Movement's projects and goals.
Introduction
The collaboration with EADT School of Art and Design of Tarragona in Tarragona (Catalonia) has started in 2013-14 Academic Year with four students doing intership practices with Amical Wikimedia and with the scientific supervision of MNAT Nacional Archeological Museum of Tarragona, Museu Nacional Arqueològic de Tarragona (in catalan). Their mission is to draw images for Wikipedia articles and publish them on Commons. This project lends students the opportunity to work on scientific and informative illustrations, make their artwork known and join the Commons community of graphic authors.
Escola d'Art i Disseny Tarragona, the Art and Design School of Tarragona founded in 1934, is a public school under the auspices of the Diputació de Tarragona (province administration).
Participants
2013-14
During the 2013-14 academic year, there were 4 students working with an intership program producing informative and scientific graphics about the roman city of Tarraco (actually Tarragona).:
- Guillem Duran produced didactical images for Wikipedia articles about hunting in Roman times based of a mosaic in Mausoleum of Centcelles. (See the results here)
- Meritxell Guasch produced one didactical image about roman latrinae based on actual ruins. (See the results here)
- Dylan Calaf produced one image showing diferents parts of a small roman baths based on actual ruins. (See the results here)
- Cristina Toro produced two images about an August colossal monument in Tarraco. (See the results here)
Àngel Sauret had been the Project Teacher from the school, Lluís Madurell and David Gómez the wikimedian tutors and Francesc Tarrats Bou, Montserrat Perramon, Josep Anton Remolà, Pilar Sada were the scientific advisor team from the Nacional Archeological Museum of Tarragona. In the assignament of the August monument the cathedratic of archeology from Rovira i Virgili University Joaquin Ruiz de Arbulo Bayona also advised the student.
