[edit]User:NGCZ has uploaded here 5272 files. All these files are coming from the collection of the National Gallery Prague. In general, the quality of the files is poor. The National Gallery Prague released a statement (available in Czech via 11535335) in which the Gallery states that the files have been stolen from their internal database and they were made available on Commons without their knowledge. The National Gallery Prague also states that they didn't find out how the files were stolen, however, they're kindly asking to delete the files from Wikimedia Commons.
The Gallery also pointed out that they cooperate with the Wikimedia Czech Republic and they do release high-quality files which can be found at Category:Art Library Project by collection. The Gallery wishes to continue to release their photos under a free license.
- Delete I believe that the images were indeed stolen. The Gallery has a good history of cooperating with WM CZ and I see no reason to keep stolen files here even though some of them are PD. --Podzemnik (talk) 23:43, 1 October 2020 (UTC)
- Delete These small files (466 × 256 px) probably served only for internal use and were not meant for release. Some are even corrupt like this [1] or this [2].--NoJin (talk) 21:04, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
- Delete Per originator request. --Juandev (talk) 11:27, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
- Comment I have started deleting the files with VisualFileChange but some files couldn't be deleted. The process is time consuming and other admins are welcome to help delete all these files Gbawden (talk) 09:27, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Gbawden: Thanks for that. Mum it might be quite tricky to delete them all if VisualChange doesn't work properly. It might be something with the cache so perhaps if we wait a bit, the tool will allow us to load up images into it and delete them. --Podzemnik (talk) 09:40, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
Deleted: per nomination. --Gbawden (talk) 12:03, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
