Duplicate images of a non-notable musician. Jon Kolbert (talk) 13:42, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- Below is regarding File:Dave higginbotham by andrew parodi.jpg
Non-notable musician Jon Kolbert (talk) 21:06, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
- Keep. Duplicate enwiki version currently in use on en:Kat Bjelland, and if this is kept, that local version will be replaced by this one. In scope due to its use on enwiki. ~ Rob13Talk 22:44, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
- Just to clarify, this refers only to File:Dave higginbotham by andrew parodi.jpg, which was the only file nominated when I made this comment. Obviously, no quarrel with deleting the duplicate version. I haven't evaluated the rest. ~ Rob13Talk 02:33, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- Delete. Description cites a website that is non-free; image looks professional not self-taken. DMacks (talk) 22:48, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
- Keep and possibly Rename, File:Mranonymous1.jpg, File:Mranonymous2large.jpg, and File:Mranonymous3.jpg. Rather than a simple personal image, it's also an image of that person at the "Living Enrichment Center." Such an image can be compared to other Wikipedians who take pictures of themselves at any other location. Keep and Split en:File:Dave higginbotham by andrew parodi.jpg, and Keep, File:Garth fagan dance at wou 6.jpg. That one is simply of a dance company which has a category, and there's no reason to delete it. The pages regarding Colegio Cesar Chavez can be used as references, although I'm not entirely sure how. For the Western Oregon University stuff, I'm going to have to figure those out later. ----DanTD (talk) 14:48, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- @DanTD: The issue is, the photographer and subject cannot be the same. Are we sure the person photographed isn't the subject? So we have a potential copyright issue here. -- とある白い猫 ちぃ? 23:09, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, but many of them can be and are used as such. The pics of his graduating class at WOU can always be someone else's. The one of "MrAnonymous" at the Living Enrichment Center seem to be more about him mimicking the "Welcoming Jesus" statue at that center. Some Wikipedians I know of take pictures of themselves at train stations, and other sites. The ones from the book are clearly copyright issues, I'm not disputing that. But if you think about why people post pages of books as images on Wikipedia, it's because they want the information in those books to be seen. ----DanTD (talk) 04:00, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- Comment pertaining to File:Dave higginbotham by andrew parodi.jpg and the duplicate, if you notice the age difference of the subject between the old version of the photo on enwiki and the current version, I find it highly unlikely that the uploader is the one who took the photo and has the rights to the photo. Jon Kolbert (talk) 05:32, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- That one must've been merged, because the one I'm talking about had older pictures there. ----DanTD (talk) 18:15, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
Deleted: Commons is not a photo album for personal photos. There is signigicant doubt that the photo of Dave Higginbotham is by the uploader. --Sebari – aka Srittau (talk) 18:54, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
