Santorum cocktails
[edit]A bartender inventing a drink and calling it "Santorum" (the mixture of feces, semen, and lube that is rumored to be a byproduct of anal sex) is in itself entirely trivial outside of its use as a political stick. Commons should not aid anyone in waving that stick--that we did so once, by allowing the images to be uploaded and then used in a piece of Wikinews written by the uploader of this and other "Santorum images", is bad enough. Is there any other conceivable use of these images? The Wikipedia that I know would not even allow these images to be used. Drmies (talk) 23:38, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

- Keep, These are all used on another sister project, at Wikinews. They're within scope, and should be kept. -- Cirt (talk) 04:37, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- In an article which you wrote. Drmies (talk) 14:21, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- It really doesn't matter who wrote it. We at Commons don't care about that - if another project uses it, it is within scope. -mattbuck (Talk) 15:07, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

- Comment - Multiple images are used in the gallery of a sister project article on Wikinews at n:Wikinews interviews New York bar owner on Santorum cocktail. -- Cirt (talk) 04:41, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- Keep Someone isn't thinking laterally. Outside the Santorum context these images could have a legitimate use as "bartender pouring drink". --Fred the Oyster (talk) 09:17, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- Keep - No deletion rationale under COM:D is given, but I interpret it as saying it's not educationally useful. Well, by long Commons tradition, images used in mainspace on another Wikimedia project are by definition educational. If you have a problem with the Wikinews article, take it up with Wikinews. Kept all The files are in use on other projects, so this automatically gives them COM:SCOPE for hosting here. Commons is a media repository and should not be used as a tool to bypass discussions on usage on other projects. This also has "extra" scope as it is a series of photographs which "document" the making of a cocktail. Please discuss usage on other projects first, not here. russavia (talk) 21:35, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
