Flags by User:NebulousTheIllogical

[edit]

These are fictional flags apparently designed by the uploader. They are not and should not be used on any project, fail COM:EDUSE. --Reywas92 (talk) 22:34, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello User:Reywas92. I am extremely sorry for any inconveniences you feel about this situation. All of these flags mentioned are all used for my user (sub)pages (mainly this one). It seems that you have mentioned my logo as well, but it still only will be used on my user page.

Now, have I really created these flags? For the most part, no. They are either split flags (used for galleries to display more than one flag in one box (I am fairly new with galleries so if there is some CSS displaying item that I can use to create the same effect, I will consider using.)) or flags made by other people which I have recreated in higher quality. (I asked for permission!)

I understand all of your concerns, but I don't want to make my page to feel incomplete for me or other users. NebulousTheIllogical (talk) 22:53, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Commons is not a webhost for your personal page: COM:NOTHOST. Also see Commons:Project scope/Pages, galleries and categories. Your logo should be deleted too, because that's not what this website is for. You've licensed all of these as your own work so if they were made by other people you've lied about their origin. I don't want to spark an argument, but here I prove you wrong on some statements you laid.

"You've licensed all of these as your own work so if they were made by other people you've lied about their origin. "
I in fact have made all of the files (some of which are pretty old.) Even if I did not, I did ask for permission on recreating their flags and putting them on wikipedia.

"Not Informative" or "Not Your Personal Page"
1. Commons:User-specific galleries, templates and categories states that users are free to create galleries. The subpage of mine that I use the flags in is technically considered a gallery.
Note: I may have misinterpreted this on the 2nd points onward.
2. If a gallery of flags is not allowed on Wikimedia, then Cultural flags shouldn't exist either
3. Just in case you didn't see the page, the text colour underneath the flags have a legend at the top. All of the flags above are all proposed flags so they are coloured more red as a notice.

"The logo should be deleted too"
Commons:User pages tells us that images and other file types are allowed that represent the user. My logo does in fact represent me in many ways.

Note: The Oeno Island (Flag of a Micronation) and Jarvis Island flags are free to be deleted.
Not intended to sound hurtful in ANY way, I'm extremely sorry if you feel harmed in some sort. NebulousTheIllogical (talk) 01:18, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination, out of scope. Not meaningfully used. --P 1 9 9   17:46, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
