[edit]The problems here are all the same. Images are fairly obviously not own work (movie posters, etc.) and all labeled with self-license. Some might be old enough to be reatined, but there is not enough information given to be able to do that. The images are all dated in the 2020s which is also not possible.

- Keep Iran only awards 30 year protection for photographs made available to the public. There are other in the list also older than 30 years. The cutoff date for PD-Iran would be 1992. --RAN (talk) 13:50, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

- Many of these images have no apparent connection to Iran and are claimed as "own work." It's more complicated than it seems on the surface. Just because a building is in Iran, with "own work" applied, we can't prove it was painted in Iran by an Iranian because all we have is "own work." COM:EVID requires this information from the uploader. Ellin Beltz (talk) 02:00, 4 February 2022 (UTC)
- Every noob uses the default "own work" when they upload, and the scan is their own work, even if it does not transfer copyright, or restart the copyright clock. "Not in Iran" claim: I imagine we can say that about any photo missing gps data or an identifiable landmark, so we go with contextual clues, such as the title of the image saying it was taken in Iran, such as "Markar Khan Davidkhanian, Museum of New Julfa, Iran" and "Sarkis Khan Davidkhanian in the Museum of New Julfa, Iran" and "Alexander Setkhanian, husband of Maryam Davidkhanian, Tehran, 1908". Or they are images of people who were born in Iran, and died in Iran such as the Davidkhanian family. Is it possible that an image was taken on a trip to Disneyworld at the Iran pavilion? Anything is possible, but in the absence of any contextual clues showing deception, we have to assume they were taken where they are claimed to have been taken, in Iran. This is the Commons equivalent of Occam's Razor, where we accept the simplest explanation for an image. We assume good faith, even though it would be very easy to miscaption any image if you want to intentionally deceive. --RAN (talk) 00:38, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: I realize you were joking, but I'm literal-minded enough to feel compelled to comment that EPCOT doesn't have an Iran pavilion. Gildir (talk) 05:37, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Keep the old photographs listed by RAN above, as they're clearly more than 30 years old. 𝕱𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖆 (talk) 05:38, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
- Delete These images appear to be from a book or Vanity Fair article on Dennis Hopper. Some have metadata for a photographer that does not match the uploader:

Deleted: almost all, per nomination. I kept a few where I either found the photographer (who died in 1968) or could establish that the photograph must have been taken over 100 years ago. Yes I know, for photographs Iran only has a term of protection of 30 years (per COM:IRAN), but after publication, and I'm not given evidence of publication (let alone a proper year) for any of these older presumably Iranian photographs. I also deleted all of the paintings, drawings etc. because I was not given enough information to determine their copyright status (which is not 30 years after publication as for the photos but death of the creator over 50 years ago / before 22 August 1980). A version of one of these drawings is at fa:پرونده:Markar_Khan_Davidkhanian.jpg as copyrighted, so apparently they don't know the author either. --Rosenzweig τ 15:40, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
