Note: there is a linked Deletion Request at Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by International-critics. Please keep all comments together, here. Thanks. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 17:55, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Modern art. I think painter identity/permission confirmation via Commons:OTRS is necessary.

Please send a copy of this to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org as instructed on COM:OTRS. Also beware of the use of sockpuppets. Regards, Yann (talk) 09:56, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
These images clearly can't stay on Commons without a properly-recorded licence from the original artist. There is no indication on the files that permission has been sent to OTRS. Onlysilence, could you please confirm whether a request has been emailed, and if so let me know the date and the email subject line? I'll wait a day or two for your reply, but in the absence of permission will have to delete these. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 12:43, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Onlysilence, thanks for your comments. I've taken the liberty of formatting them, and of removing the telephone number and email address which are better not posted publicly here. The images you and International-critics have uploaded are interesting, and if it can be formally established that we have a valid permission from the painter we would like to host them. In order to do that, though, there are several steps we have to go through, and several things that need to be cleared up. As previously mentioned, formal permission will ultimately need to be emailed to a special OTRS address, and not published here on a web page, but before we get to that we need to sort out who is posting and who is giving the permission. Could I ask you, please, to let me know:
  1. Are you, Onlysilence, the actual painter, Erik Pevernagie, in person, or are you someone else who is connected with the painter?
  2. Are you, Onlysilence, the same person who has uploaded images as International-critics?
  3. Do you personally control Erik Pevernagie's website http://www.pevernagie.com/ and the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Erik-Pevernagie/73320708795?
You could answer here if you wish, or if you'd prefer to email me in confidence you can do so via the 'email this user' link on the left hand toolbar of my user page. Thanks for your time. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 18:33, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

International-critics, many thanks for your reply on my user page. So that we can keep all of the correspondence in one place I have copied it back here:

Dear Michael Maggs,
I thank you for your kind reply.
I am indeed Onlysilence.
I became user Onlysilence, after the persons Marc en Sabine Degraef, with whom I created International-critics, told me that, for professional reasons, they had temporaryly not sufficient time.
I personally control Erik Pevernagie's website http://www.pevernagie.com/ and the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Erik-Pevernagie/73320708795
I do thank you for your friendly mediation.

I will be a little busy for the next couple of days, but if you could allow me some time I will happily work with you to arrange the licences needed to host your work here on Commons. I will contact you by email if that's OK. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 09:56, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Delete Aside from the fact that we do not accept licenses this way, please keep in mind that "have given permission to publish the files under a free license in Commons Wikimedia " is not an acceptable license because it is limited to Commons. Commons requires that licenses be free for all use by anyone anywhere, including commercial use. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 21:41, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Jim, this is being sorted via OTRS and I'm hopeful that all will be OK eventually. Erik Pevernagie is currently waiting on me for the next step. Hope to do that tomorrow. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 23:03, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Kept. Erik Pevernagie has kindly agreed to provide a free licence for all of his works: ticket:2014123110008224. He has also confirmed that he was the photographer. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 09:24, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
