I haven't noticed that the images are shot by someone else. Thank you--Arosio Stefano (talk) 16:45, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination. --Gbawden (talk) 12:10, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There are copyright problems with these images because they show packaging with (likely) copyrighted images on the box (see COM:PACKAGING) or (likely) copyrighted parts of manuals. Some could perhaps be saved if someone would be willing to upload new versions with the problematic parts cropped or blurred out. Else the files should be deleted, unless it can be conclusevily shown that the copyrighted packaging/manual content is actually under a free license or in the public domain.

This has no box, manual or anything else; it's a PCB (maybe you had an oversight?).
Yes, I must have misclicked or something here; I'm withdrawing the nomination for this file. --Rosenzweig τ 12:37, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
These have been cropped, no more boxes included in the photos:

I have pixelized the copyrightable content of these:
Where is the problem here? What I must delete/pixelize?
The puzzle on the wall. --Rosenzweig τ 12:39, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done, pixelized! Arosio Stefano
This is the console (very colorful), NOT the box. Should I also pixelize the console itself? The console is already so blurry...
Here [2][3] you can see and understand that our photo is only the console and doesn't include a box.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for the images I mentioned above. For the other images I think I can't do anything.

Comment This is a bad DR: too many files nominated at once, with different issues. Also selection was not done properly, some are OK, e.g. File:Conic TVG 201-4 With box.jpg. Some content may be in the public domain due to lack of notice. I suggest to close it, and renominate carefully selected files in small batches. Yann (talk) 09:31, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think proceeding like that would be wise. File:Conic TVG 201-4 With box.jpg is only OK now because the uploader created a new version not showing the packaging, just like he did with a lot of the files. These new versions can now be kept, just the original versions need to be hidden/deleted. I think that's a rather satisfying result, and I don't consider a DR with such a result "bad". @Arosio Stefano: If it's ok with you, I'll proceed to keep the files where you uploaded a new version (and hide or delete the original version). Once those are kept and marked as such in the DR, there will probably a lot less files be left to deal with. --Rosenzweig τ 10:39, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For me it's ok. For me only the question about File:Re-El Giochi TV.jpg remains open. Arosio Stefano (talk) 10:46, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Arosio Stefano: OK, I'll proceed then. While File:Re-El Giochi TV.jpg is obviously not a case of COM:PACKAGING, the drawings on the console itself are still quite prominent (though somewhat blurry in this particular photo). Maybe you'll want to pixelate the top three (sports) icons in that photo as well. There's no need to pixelate the letters or the multi-colored stripes IMO. --Rosenzweig τ 11:02, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Keep I deleted some files which contennt is 1) not from USA: languages other than English, or UK publisher mentioned; 2) with a copyright notice; 3) published after 1989. All other files can be kept. Even some of the crops are not necessary. Yann (talk) 17:17, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Yann: If I understand your contributions correctly, you seem to think that for the files you did not delete, {{PD-US-1978-89}} applies. There are two problems here: Quite a number of the files still up for deletion show packaging or manuals of non-US (European or Asian) consoles, like those from Philips, Schneider, Master Electronics, Radofin, Schmid, Nintendo (from 2011) and others. Second, even if they show US packaging/manuals from 1978 to 1989, it's not enough that we can see no notice, one would also need to check if there was no registration within 5 years. --Rosenzweig τ 18:24, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
At least the source country of the game and the date should be checked. This DR looks like a deletion spree instead of a carefully selected list of files. It is not immediately clear if files like File:Radofin Tele Sports III - Manual.jpg are really under a copyright. I deleted a few more. Yann (talk) 18:36, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've looked through the remaining files. File:Texas Instruments TI-33 electronic calculator (1).jpg(kept, first version hidden) appeared to be of US origin at first, but accd. to de:TI-33 and [4], the TI-33 was a model for the European market, so what we see is probably European packaging. File:Signetics PVI 2636.png has the name Signetics attached to it (an American company), though accd. to [5], the Signetics 2636 was developed at least in part by European company Philips (which had bought Signetics in 1975), so the source country for that text is not clear. The other files up for deletion are for European products. --Rosenzweig τ 18:54, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Radofin was a British company btw. --Rosenzweig τ 18:57, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How can I pixelize "Re-El Giochi TV.jpg" as suggested? Someone delete It. Can you recover the image so I can procede? Arosio Stefano (talk) 20:18, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing useful would be left, so I don't see the point. Yann (talk) 21:24, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean? It's your opinion but maybe not that of the majority. You decide? For example me and Rosenzweig agree to keep the picture Arosio Stefano (talk) 21:33, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You can request undeletion here, but I would oppose it as out of scope. Yann (talk) 21:37, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I continue to not undestand. "out of scope": what does it mean? I think that it is "in the scope" to illustrate a pong console of which we don't even have a picture. When we will have another better picture it can be considered "out of scope" and be deleted Arosio Stefano (talk) 21:46, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How can you illustrate an article with a blurry picture? I don't think that will be accepted in any project. Yann (talk) 15:25, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In lists like these [6][7] the photo don't result blurry because is little, so here is useful. And photos of this generation are rare, therefore precious (note the deficiencies in the list) Arosio Stefano (talk) 06:12, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Yann: I nominated this file (File:Re-El Giochi TV.jpg) for deletion along with all the others, but with the option of giving the uploader a chance to remedy the problems with the files. He did do so for a large number of the files, and I withdrew the nominations for those. He was willing to do so in this case too, but then you deleted the file just one day after nomination. As you surely know, such swift deletions should happen only in very obvious cases, while others should remain open for at least seven days. The uploader's request above as well as this contribution now by me should make it clear that this case is not one where the file should have been deleted (almost) immediately. @Arosio Stefano: If Yann still insists on an undeletion request, do you want me to make it? --Rosenzweig τ 18:23, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, undeleted. Yann (talk) 18:25, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I have pixelized the three sportsmen as suggested. Please let me know if anything else is needed. Arosio Stefano (talk) 07:17, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've withdrawn the nomination for that one as well and hid the first version, just like with the others. I still see some (like File:Texas Instruments TI-33 electronic calculator (1).jpg (kept, first version hidden), European as pointed out above, or File:Nintendo Game & Watch Ball RGW-001 (30th anniversary reissue, 2011) (1).jpg), where the packaging could be cut from the image if you want to keep an image of the actual device, which is not problematic I think. But photos of the devices themselves might already be available as separate files, so it's up to you. --Rosenzweig τ 12:15, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have cropped the TI-33. The G&W Ball cropped are already present, you can delete it. Thanks Arosio Stefano (talk) 13:31, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've withdrawn the nomination for the TI-33 image and hid the first version like the others. --Rosenzweig τ 16:33, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
