- Oppose: Not obviously derivative. These are street shots. The photos are not exclusively of copyrighted material as they are not tightly cropped. They are similar in composition to many other photos involving political campaigns, including a political bus, another bus where nothing blocks the view, and pretty much everything in political yard signs which are more closely focused in the broader composition. --LauraHale (talk) 15:45, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
- @LauraHale: It is obvious that how derivative a work is (and therefore, how unsuitable to be here) depends on how "prominent" the copyrighted element is with regard to the final image. Thus Commons:De minimis must be taken into account and Commons:De_minimis#Guidelines the definite way to. In particular, #7 (Copyrighted work X is the central part of the subject (eg it is the reason for taking the photo). Removing it would make the derivative work useless) clearly applies. And it applies because the reason to take the pictures (consider both name of the file and categories assigned by you, and that they belong to a same batch of images on election motives, uploaded by you). I've skipped a couple of pictures where #5 could apply. Finally, with regard your examples, thank you for pointing out. Both are derivative works but, in the second case, it's copyright ineligible, as it's made only by letters. Thank you for your understanding --Discasto talk 21:03, 20 April 2019 (UTC)
- IMHO the first one (Llamazares) maybe could pass, but it would have been wiser/smarter selecting a title not showing that obviously the aim was capturing the propaganda.
- The second one (Casado) could be cropped, keeping half-PP-electoral-bus, if we hadn't too many of those ones (don't know).
- The third one (Garzón) cannot be saved, IMHO. Strakhov (talk) 22:02, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
- The first I didn't think to get pass, as it is shown to prominent, only cropping to right-down would be possible, but then: for what do we have the cropped-picture here? What should demonstrate, illustrate a.s.o. such a cropped picture? A normal street.
- The second: if it is cropped, the picture is useless, as there can't be seen more than the front of a bus.
- The third is copyvio obviously. So I say: Delete to all three. --Quedel (talk) 00:08, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
Kept: first one is clearly DM; the image on the second one is small and distorted which renders it useless for reuse; third deleted since poster is primary target of the image. P 1 9 9 ✉ 17:31, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
