In most countries, all paintings, sculpture, architecture, text, and other creative works have copyrights which last for 70 years after the death of the creator. An image of a work that is still under copyright is a derivative work, and infringes on the copyright so that we cannot usually keep the image on Commons. In some countries, there is a special exception to the copyright law which allows such images under certain circumstances. We call that exception freedom of panorama (FOP). Unfortunately there is no applicable FOP exception in France.

 Keep Hello.
Please, look closer to the pics because if no FoP in France, de minimis is OK...
So, many of these pics shouldn't be deleted, as File:W3571 StNazaire Pont 21295XA2.jpg, File:W3568 StNazaire Pont 21274XA2.jpg, File:Saint-Nazaire-Bruecke Pylon.jpg, File:Pont de Saint-Nazaire, en haut - panoramio.jpg, File:Pont de Saint-Nazaire Haubants.JPG, and File:L'entrée du pont de Saint-Nazaire. Rive Sud. - panoramio.jpg. This bicolor concrete triangle is not a work of art, it's only a concrete triangle with a road and sky, and vehicles, and so much... A triangle is a basic geometric shape with no copyright since the wheel was discoverd... Many, many, manyyyyyy bridges have this shape all around the world and they were all designed like pyramids were 5.000y ago.
Red and white paint? Mmmm?
Cables? Not more...
Asphalted road with 3 lanes? Pffff...
Clouds? Yes! Clouds! All under (c)!!!
But you asked for 24/73 pics! Why? And you forgot many other concerned by FoP!!! So, please, don't start deleting requests without thinking, thanks. lol LW² \m/ (Lie ² me...) 22:57, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Keep Hello, there was a similar discussion about bridges in France that were designed by engineers, the design of the Saint Nazaire Bridge responds more to technical criteria than to a real architectural work (pylons visibles by planes, common concrete structures used at that time ...). There are not "a definite artistic character" and the realization is purely technical, so it's not include in the fop.
Are we going to delete all photos of electric pylons, commons water towers ...? please, there're a lot of work to do on wikimedia commons like copyvios, rather than be zealous about fop.--Glabb (talk) 05:43, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: per above; the bridge is a technical structure designed by physical reasons and not a creative work. --GPSLeo (talk) 12:57, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
