The files are images of painted trains in Japan, in which per COM:FOP Japan, Japanese FOP doesn't extend to artistic works other than buildings. As a result, the files are likely to be copyrighted and unfree locally.

•  Comment I don't know where the threshold is, but surely some of the representations should be considered de minimis? And more broadly, I do wonder where you draw the line between slightly more complex train liveries like the one in Category:EF510-500 in Cassiopeia livery and "artistic" designs like this.   • @Ytoyoda: As you mentioned "complex", this involves thresehold of originality.
  • I think your example is much simpler than most files listed in this deletion request, as the painting of your examples are only coloured lines on grey background with a star (along with the "Cassiopeia" plate that I'll agree with COM:DM).
  • But this time, the painting of the carriages (i.e. stylized eyes) seems to fulfill the artistic requirement of COM:TOO Japan. The painting is neither a combination of geometric shapes nor functional text (which is beyond local TOO), and in my opinion, is likely to be eligible for copyright.廣九直通車 (talk) 10:36, 22 March 2021 (UTC)
