Delete All but the first photo which is covered by De minimis especially as Kermit is only an incidental tiny onlooker while Martin Dempsey holds forth to impress Ms. P Michelle Obama. Plus Kermit is appearing on stage as an actor in the film about to be shown, rather than being in performance as "Kermit". --Fæ (talk) 18:46, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
Deleted: The first is certainly not de minimis -- the General is said to be talking to him, so without him the image is meaningless. . Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 14:14, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

- Delete Agreed. The last one might be cropped to eliminate Kermit, but any who claim that it is DM please note that it is in use on ten different WPs in Muppet or Kermit articles - those editors don't think it is DM. The two in Germany are not permanent, so FOP does not apply. . Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 20:31, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
- Keep For the two images in Germany, I vote/propose to keep them. One recent German court decision related to photos of the frequently overpainted sculpture "Holbeinpferd" (cf. English Wikipedia page; German Wikipedia page with info related to the court decision; Court decision on Wikipedia in German language) indicates that freedom of panorama applies for such cases. If you disagree, you consequently need to nominate also all 80 images in the category Holbeinpferd for deletion. In addition, the dress of the sculpture is apparently something handmade with just a "Kermit-like" motif in the middle. -- Norbert Nagel (talk) 20:57, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- According to COM:LICENSING the file must be free in both the country of origin, and the United States. I don't see how the ruling of a German court could take away the claim of a U.S. based rights-holder. Sure, perhaps the photo is PD in Germany -- but I don't think it's PD in the US. -Pete F (talk) 08:22, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
- If the copyrighted character were a German character, I might agree, but since the character is American, with a registered copyright in the USA, I don't think use of the character in Germany can make the image free except, perhaps, in Germany.
- More to the point is that you misread the court decision. The suit was brought by the widow of the sculptor against a photographer who had added a Santa Claus suit in post-processing. The suit said nothing about FOP applying to the decorations, only to the statue itself, which all must agree is correct.

- Reverted File:Michelle Obama at Prager Child Development Center, Ft. Bragg 3-12-09.jpg now excludes Kermit, again. The photograph of Segel at File:Kermit the Frog, Jason Segel 2.jpg would be suitable to be kept once cropped. --Fæ (talk) 10:33, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you. I have hidden the version that showed Kermit and struck it from the list above. . Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 12:37, 11 July 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Delete copyright violations (see COM:TOYS and prior nominations for this category). If somebody sees value in the photos of the man, and wants to crop out the muppet, that would be fine. I'd do it right now, but COM:CropTool is not working.
