The hotel was completed in 1930 by Ernest Doneaud (1879–1959). There is no freedom of panorama in Romania. The copyright term of the country is 70 years, and the image can be undeleted in 2030.

Despite being a supporter of the public domain, what you do shows the exact opposite. I'm sure that you have the best intentions, but your actions can still have bad consequences. What laws or rules ban is not always immoral. Across history, there existed multiple states with immoral laws, and today we praise people that didn't follow them. Think of many heroes that rebelled against 20th century totalitarian regimes. Although this is a little different from our situation, it's important to know when to follow rules and when not. Just because they exist, it doesn't mean that we must always obey them. It's also important to keep in mind what you support, in this case the public domain, and think if various policies really make sense, and if your actions really reflect your beliefs. Actions and their consequences are far important than intentions or thoughts, since they are something very tangible. Neoclassicism Enthusiast (talk) 19:39, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes copyright is stupid, but we have to respect it on Commons. --A1Cafel (talk) 03:13, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As an art, design and architecture enthusiast, I read over the years multiple books that feature buildings that have copyrights on them, but the architect isn't mentioned there, nether the year, or it's mentioned, 70 years didn't pass after his death, and pictures of their works still appear there. This comes from prestigious publishers, like Igloo, with books like https://www.igloo.ro/produs/pitoresc-mediteraneean-in-arhitectura-bucurestiului-interbelic/ or https://www.igloo.ro/produs/bucuresti-oras-art-deco-reeditare/ . Copyrights matter mainly when it comes to monetary gains, and since companies that sell products from which they earn money don't put only buildings from the public domain I don't see why we, a non-profit organization, should be overzealous when it comes to copyrights.
I am also not sure if copyrights on buildings refers to them in a general way, or only to the plan of the building, drawn by the architect. Neoclassicism Enthusiast (talk) 17:49, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just have a look at Commons:Copyright_rules_by_territory/Romania#Freedom_of_panorama. Assuming that this is correct, buildings can be copyrighted, not just their blueprints. Apparently, it is even allowed to publish images of copyrighted Romanian buildings and 3D artwork under a non-commercial license, but Commons does not accept those. It does not matter at all what other people do elsewhere. Copyright rules are very important here. And uploading copyright violations on purpose to make a point against copyright rules is something that you should not even consider. BTW, the photos from this DR will not be lost once they are deleted, because they will be undeleted in 2030. --Robert Flogaus-Faust (talk) 16:42, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Delete except for File:Bucuresti, Romania. Bulevardul Magheru, 19 Aprilie 2020. Interdictie CORONAVIRUS.jpg and possibly File:Bucuresti, Romania. Bulevardul Magheru, 19 Aprilie 2020. Interdictie CORONAVIRUS. (3).jpg (not sure), where I don't entirely understand why the hotel should be considered the main subject. I just checked ro:Ernest_Doneaud and [1]. So the deletion request is mostly plausible. --Robert Flogaus-Faust (talk) 17:10, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
