Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:FotoPresidencia Flickr stream to check
I am not sure about the images in this Flickr stream. On one hand, it appears to be an official account; on the other hand, there are clear indications of licensing laundering. I will try to explain point by point.
Firstly, in this album, there are photographs taken by Ricardo Stuckert, originally published on the official Flickr account of the Brazilian government under CC BY license. However, in the Flickr stream in question, they are made available as public domain [sic], which appears to be a clear violation of copyright.
Secondly, I am not certain about the photographers of the images I have uploaded and I am nominating for deletion. Regarding Leo Queen, they appear to be an official photographer, but I am unsure if I can say the same about Juan Cano, who, when I search on Google, seems to be associated with something called “AP” (Juan Cano/Colombian Presidential Press Office via AP). If it refers to the Associated Press, then, from what I see, their content is not free to be uploaded to Commons, let alone considered to be in the public domain, whatever that means.
In summary, I am uncertain if this is indeed an official account and whether the images posted by it are actually authored by the account. I am afraid I may not be able to competently evaluate this matter, so I would like more experienced users to analyze this matter, if possible.

- This is an excellent question. If it is the Colombian presidential press office, they might hold the rights to the images and would therefore be able to release them into the public domain. In fact, "Colombian Presidential Press Office via AP" does suggest that the Colombian Presidential Press Office may be the copyright holder, and AP just provided this particular image to your immediate source as a service provider. However, the Flickr info page is very thin, making it hard to tell how genuine the account is. Safest would probably be to send an email to contacto@presidencia.gov.co and ask them to confirm that they are indeed operating that Flickr channel. Felix QW (talk) 10:55, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

- Comment @Felix QW I haven’t yet received any response, but I have found this: this site links FotoPresidencia Flickr stream, so yes, it is most likely an official account. I just don’t know how to deal with licensing laundering cases, like the one involving photographs by Ricardo Stuckert. RodRabelo7 (talk) 04:49, 10 July 2023 (UTC)

- Keep per the above. Cano lists himself on Twitter as "Fotógrafo Presidencia de la República ", so the Presidency's press office should have full authority to release the images. (The "via AP" that pops up in some searches is because the Associated Press is distributing the photo; it's not an indication of AP ownership.) Stuckert appears to be an official photographer for the Brazilian president and his images in the FotoPresidencia stream were likely provided to Colombia as part of the summit. PD may not be the right license, but this would be a case where fixing the license makes more sense than deletion since it was released through official channels. —Tcr25 (talk) 15:09, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
