No valid licence - this is not Polish photo Deerhunter (talk) 14:33, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Keep I agree that it is likely not a Polish photo, but {{PD-Polish}} covers "photographs by Polish photographers (or published for the first time in Poland or simultaneously in Poland and abroad) published without a clear copyright notice" before 1994. In this case I believe the image was published for the first time in Poland in the quoted 1957 source. See also Commons:Deletion requests/Category:Stroop Report for related discussion. --Jarekt (talk) 18:20, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Delete In view it is copyright violation: According to this source, the copyright holder of this picture wants no commercial use (Darf nicht für Werbung verwendet werden!). Consequently usage on Commons is illegal. --High Contrast (talk) 17:10, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- It is a standard practice of many image archives to claim copyrights on material they do not have rights to. For example compare this flicker image with File:Warsaw Uprising by Chrzanowski - Stolica - 14654.jpg. Or see File:Bundesarchiv Bild 183-68431-0005, Polen, Konzentrationslager, Deportation.jpg which Bundesarchiv scanned from polish book and released under their license. Or this Corbis image as compared to File:Stroop Report - Warsaw Ghetto Uprising 06b.jpg. You see it all the time. --Jarekt (talk) 03:12, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- This gets complicated right now. --High Contrast (talk) 12:57, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
