File is licensed as {{PD-logo}}, but it for that to be OK the file would need to be "PD-logo" in both the United States (where the Commons servers are located) and Kuwait (which is likely where the logo was first published). The logo is at best a borderline case per for being PD in the US per COM:TOO United States and seems more complex than the type of logos usually considered not eligible for copyright protection under US copyright law. Things are even less clear when it comes to Kuwait because the threshold of originality under Kuwaiti copyright law is unclear. I asked about this at User talk:King of Hearts#File:Kuwait Finance House Logo.svg and it was pointed out that this logo may be protected by copyright under Kuwaiti copyright law per item 6 of COM:NOP Kuwait. Under both US and Kuwati copyright law, even if each of the individual elements of the logo are ineligible for copyright protection, the combination of them together can be creative enough for the logo as a whole to be eligible for copyright protection. So, unless it such a thing can be clearly demonstrated to not be the case (e.g. a copyright court ruling stating the logo is too simple to be copyrightable), I'm not sure this can be kept per COM:PCP. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:47, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

- The KFH logo seems too complex to be considered {{PD-logo}} per COM:TOO United States and COM:NOP Kuwait, and that's what's being discussed here. The other two files you mentioned have now been added to this discussion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:46, 5 October 2022 (UTC)
- I would say this image fails the US threshold of originality test. The logo is quite complex, far more than a simple combination of letters and shapes. COM:NOP Kuwait#6 would also be relevant: the logo is innovative in the way the collection of text and symbols is displayed. Aymatth2 (talk) 14:38, 5 October 2022 (UTC)

- It should be removed from Wikimedia after being downloaded to Wikipedias for use in articles such as w:en:Kuwait Finance House. It is fair use to include the logo in an article about the bank, but we cannot say anyone can use it for any purpose, the case if it stayed on Wikimedia Commons.
