Deir Yassin massacre

[edit]

Reasons for deletion request: None of this pictures are of the Deir Yassin massacre. Firstly: all the pictures that were taken of the Deir Yassin massacre, are still being censored by Israel; the day they are released I suspect will be front-page news all over the world. Besides this: looks at the clothing: nobody in Israel/Palestine in 1948 used, say blue jeans. Also: Deir Yassin was a very well built village; some of the pictures here are clearly taken in refugee camps (I suspect some after the Sabra and Shatila massacre) Yes: I know a lot of pictures float around on the internet, allegedly from the Deir Yassin Massacre; all of them from other massacres! --Huldra (talk) 20:54, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • "These pictures do not belong to Deir Yassin Massacre, but could belong to another massacre" is not a reason to delete but only to re-categorize. If these pictures are not PD by age, then they may be deleted for that (or any other copyvio) reason. If they have no such problems then they should be kept and categorized accordingly. We should forget about the Deir Yassin issue and look into copyvio concerns. E4024 (talk) 22:01, 16 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The discussion Huldra linked to in the second comment, seems to suggest that there may be copyright concerns, if these images are indeed related to a 1980s event. But yes, misidentification in itself is not a reason for deletion. --HyperGaruda (talk) 11:34, 17 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, well, if you can find what massacre they belong to: please link them to that. At the moment we have a picture https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Deir-yassin-massacre.jpg, which has a totally misleading name, and which cannot(?) be linked to any specific massacre. What is the use of that? Huldra (talk) 20:12, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination. --P 1 9 9   15:08, 24 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
