Unless something has changed, this work-in-progress mountain monument, started in 1948, is still not eligible for inclusion on Commons. See Commons:Deletion_requests/Crazy_Horse_Memorial from 2008 --Deadstar (msg) 13:12, 7 January 2014 (UTC) Comment File:Crazy Horse Memorial 2010.jpg was kept by me in Commons:Deletion requests/File:Crazy Horse Memorial 2010.jpg because what can be seen of the sculpture is de minimis. This is still true. --Rosenzweig τ 18:13, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
- Comment That means then that in a different reasoning to the one applied in the previous deletion request, the "work in progress" part of the mountain is not considered part of the artwork and therefore not copyrightable? If this is the rationale applied here, then it might be worth checking out the deleted files to see what can be retrieved under a de minimis reason. -- Deadstar (msg) 09:58, 8 January 2014 (UTC)
- Keep When a sculpture is A Sculpture if not after it is finished?--RicHard-59 (talk) 13:12, 12 January 2014 (UTC)--RicHard-59 (talk) 17:09, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
- If I understand your position correctly, you are arguing that unfinished works are not eligible for copyright protection in the United States. As evidenced by the fact that unpublished works for which creation has begun can be preregistered with the U.S. Copyright Office, that is incorrect. —LX (talk, contribs) 23:47, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
