seems like a guess to me. Please provide more information about your thesis.

Not a guess: Commons Policy. (Commons:Derivative works) Here is my thesis:

1. All of these files are photographs of rings.
2. Rings may be copyrighted works.
3. A photograph of a copyrighted work is a Commons:Derivative work
4. None of these files provide evidence that the rings themselves are freely licensed or PD

Ergo, these files are derivative work of copyrighted jewelry and must be deleted from Commons.--GrapedApe (talk) 12:57, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
