These images were released into the public domain by the uploaders (which appear to be the same person) but there is no evidence they own the copyright. The author is marked as "unknown" throughout and the source is marked as "family archive", which says nothing about the copyright status. Update: The uploader stated on Commons talk:Licensing that the images were taken by aquaintances of Arnold Azrikan that are dead by now (though no evidence {{PD-old}} or {{PD-Russia-2008}} are applicable). - So, could we get a clarification on who took the pictures? If they were taken by Roza and Dmitry Azrikan as indicated on the description pages, there's no problem with the copyright status. (I'm assuming that those people are the users Rozochka (talk · contribs) and Dina Azrikan (talk · contribs); correct me if I'm wrong.) However, if they were taken by someone else, we need evidence that the original author released the pictures into the public domain. Two of the pictures actually specify the author as "unknown". - We are getting back to the same issue we discussed previously and you told me to fix the descriptions which I did. We are talking here about extremely personal and family matters which are: Roza is my mother died in 1988, and Dmitry is my brother still alive and can contact you if this is your demand. The photos left in the articles were taken by them, and the other photos which I, a daughter, insert personally at the time of writing the article. It has been all discussed. Please, tell me what should I submit here as a copy (a Russian birth certificate?) to prove that these images are of our father and taken by these two members of our family. Please, see youtube on my father's name and you will see my mother Roza with him, it sounds funny but I am desperate to prove it. I don't know what else I can do. Thank you for your help. --Rozochka (talk) 19:49, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- The photos you see right now in the articles (in three languages) I would like to keep. The other photos in A.A. file can be deleted (see above) but please leave the photos I inserted back after you allow me to do it in the articles as they are. Please, let me know what kind of prove you want from me. My brother Dmitry can contact you if you wish but my mother cannot - she is gone. Sorry. --Rozochka (talk) 20:03, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- Will it help your censorship if the images won't go to public domain? We just did not know better when we uploaded the images. Any solution from you will be accepted but please know that the images belong entirely to us. Again, every time we uploaded it I consulted widely with the Wikimedia administrators and did not do anything without asking you. Thank you. --Rozochka (talk) 21:37, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
