- I'm sorry too I was just a bit grumpy that day. ;-) Generally I think we should not delete images in use if we can fix the problem by cropping the image.
- I do not speak the language on id.wikt but using google translate i think the text "bincang" just means "discussion". So I think the purpose of the image is to illustrate the "Discussion" tab on Wikipedia. So if we crop away the top then the image is still usable. If it.wikt want they can always replace the image with a better one if they do not like the crop.

I'd like to see some evidence that the files are published under a free licence as claimed. The source page carries a notice that suggests the opposite: "Copyright @China Military Online. All rights reserved. Reproduction in whole or in part without permission is prohibited."
The same goes for File:Admiral Dawson.jpg: the source also carries a copyright notice.

After today identifying +30 uploads as copyvio (grabbed from different Panoramio/Flickr accounts, Google Street View, blogs, forums, touristic sites etc., details at User talk:Arzino) it´s difficult to believe that these remaining files would be own work: IMHO untrusted user uploading a bunch of copyrighted material (small/inconsistent resolutions, missing exif) so these ones (per COM:PRP) can't be believed either. Obs.: Google Street View images mostly faked with exif "Frederico". Presuming that actual uploads (since 2013) taken with exif iPhone 4S and Canon EOS 1100 D are own work. The rest most likely grabbed from Internet. Spezial case: File:Quirrarange.jpg (map, unlikely own work).

Hello. This may absolutely be deleted. I'm new at Wikipedia and still getting used to it at the Wikipedia:Spielwiese. But if possible, please don't delete File:LAY Logo HitMill EQ Grau.svg.
It's for a well known music studio in Zürich that I like very much. It's owner Roman Camenzind has his own article but he has an entire team behind him. Imho they should get some credit as well.

There is no evidence of this having been legitimately published (I conducted a basic search, and only threw up duplicates of this image). The original web page gives no more details. With no author information either, and only a creation date, I believe that this counts as an "anonymous, unpublished" work in the US, which is still under copyright until 1933 + 120 years, i.e. 2053. - This is a tough one. At first glance I'd agree with Eugene but it appears the uploader may be the person in the photo, but that doesn't necessarily make her the copyright holder. There is a link on one of her websites which suggests that the subject of the photo may have uploaded the photo herself. By Wikipedia standards, she is a borderline case for notability in that there are some mentions. I would suggest that we err on the side of caution and drop a message to the uploader, perhaps both here and at Wikipedia, asking them to contact OTRS. Keep It remains a classic case of "textlogo" cum "simple shapes". The club simply asserts the rights over a trademark. This would in the same way apply for practically all logos retained under the "textlogo" and "simple shapes" provisos. In practical terms it means, that if you bang the logo onto a coffee mug to add value to an otherwise plain product and attempt to sell it you run into problems. The same would apply with the same surety if you do it with File:Logo FC Bayern München.svg, stored here under "textlogo" and "simple shapes", or with the logo of File:SaoPauloFC.svg for which a claim of it being "free" under {{PD-Brazil-media}} (first published more than 70 years ago) can be made. If logos, any logos for that sake, are used to identify their respective owners, there is no problem with that, that is what they have been created for. Else, we might have to go further: on the same page that is linked to by the proponent, the Criciúma Esporte Clube also asserts the rights over the use of its name.
From a historic viewpoint: until about 10-15 years ago, especially English and Spanish clubs, and also Brazilians, have been highly restrictive with regards to the republication of their logos, but their stance has long since been abandoned. The whole issue is handled well enough in the {{trademark}}-disclaimer. Arguments like an assumed threshold of originality or age are of very secondary nature in context with logos and trademarks. All over, we may have an enormous number of logos stored on all kinds of servers under Wikipedia/Wikimedia flag; requests for removal of logos by their actual owners in the last ten years I assume have been of a highly negligible quantity and may generally have been related with issues such as incorrect reproduction and obsolescence - a reason why I advocate the use of only the best possible reproductions.
What the Criciúma logos is concerned: definitively text and simple shapes and therefore permissible under the current framework. The discussion about the png-logo I ignored, as I don't see the need to retain numerous different versions of the same logo in different formats as this serves no real purpose. The "case of the png" matters here not at all. The claim, that the logo in its current form was derived from anything matters only for the actual owners of the trademark. Technically I can download this logo in vector format from at least four sources, one thereof is the club itself. As there is no discussion related to the PNG-deletion I only can assume, it was understood as a prima facie cvio, probably because some erratic uploader claimed "own work", the rights to release it into PD, and/or whatever. A more benevolent administrator would have just adjusted the licencing information. But maybe, the admin just thought like me and cheerfully used the occasion to say good riddance to an uneeded variant. I since have adjusted the licencing information on the SVG object in question here and suppose, the matter is resolved.
I can also advise, that vector versions of the logo of Criciúma have been in the wild for more than ten years, and a request for removal has not been issued eg., to Mediabistro Inc, which under the brand Brands of the World provides the world's largest repository of logos in vector format. Mediabistro, based in New York, is a very polite organisation: they delete without recourse to any "legalese" language whenever this is requested by their respective trademark owners, no whatsoever talk about "low originality" or "simple shapes" there, which by itself is pretty devoid of respect for whatever work in the first place. Requests for deletions a generally only based on poor quality and alienated versions.
The issue in question would probably be best resolved by a withdrawal of the request. A more sustainable methodology with regards to Wiki and logos should be thought about. This picture belongs to the Hulton Archive. According to the Getty Images web site, the picture has copyright. If we try to determine whether the copyright claim is abusive or not, we can examine the available information:
- Date: 1940.
- Author: not known. It's only known that it belonged to Keystone (see here to know more information about the company and here to see how the Hulton archive acquired the Keystone collection.
I don't really known which IPR laws apply here. If the Mexican ones (where the picture was taken), it could require 50 years after publication, as the picture is anonymous (don't know whether having an unknown author is the same as being anonymous), see here. If the American ones, it should be argued that the copyright was not renewed (can we claim that?). If it wasn't, it's in the public domain. If it was renewed, it's under copyright until 2035.
