The image comes from the site listed, wich does not have a free licence for their images. The uploader claims to have the owner's consent, but there is no proof of it. Unless the mentioned mail is attached, this image should be deleted Thialfi (talk) 00:12, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

"I withdraw the copyrights" was original uploader's reason, on an incomplete deletion. The subject as seen at http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juliusz_Roger?uselang=en died in 1865 in Poland--this is clearly PD for Poland, isn't it? Putting it here for review. --rootology (T) 00:38, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Reasons for deletion request -65.96.157.181 04:27, 20 July 2008 (UTC) Copyright violation - The file have photos from other persons and doesn't respect the licence of the photographs. The photos in case are originally available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/bkm_br/2101936576/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/bkm_br/115360639/

- Question Where did the cc-by portion come from? Was the the uploaders "interpretation" ?
- That's not clear from the upload. I would guess it was the uploader's interpretation. Megapixie (talk) 02:16, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
- Which of course is a problem. We can not simply decide that an image is under a certain license. It is entirely possible that the image is copyright, but we can use it on our website. Which, of course, Commons doesn't accept. --ShakataGaNai ^_^ 02:26, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
