Hello, I'd like to change my username in order to use my real first name (Jorge). I did the same recently on the Wikipedia in Spanish and I'd like to do the same here. Here is the proof of ownership on my home wiki. There also exists an account called this way on the Portuguese Wikipedia, but it is from an user that have been inactive since 2008, and even since April 2005 if we discount the few later minor edits, so I think there should definitely not be any problem with me renaming to «Jorge» since here on Commons that username has no edits.     • It is unused here, its edits on all other projects combined total less than a thousand (and only a few dozen in the last five years, and edits on only fawiki in the last year), and there's no SUL for it. And I'm obtaining it on enWiki, at which point well over 99% of the edits with that name globally will be mine. Are you saying this as a reason to not let me usurp this on commons, or as a statement of warning for my SUL account (since I obviously wouldn't be able to usurp fawiki's User:Andrew, so my possibility of having a global SUL is damaged)? @Kotsaggelop: Yes: @EugeneZelenko's post above basically means no, we will not rename your account just yet because there are users with this user name on other projects. I suggest that you request account usurpation on the wikis where local users Mimo have edits (especially the Thai and Slovak Wikipedias, where users Mimo have 109 and 40 edits, respectively) and then come back to us here. Alternatively, you can visit the other Wikipedias where the account Mimo doesn't belong to you and see if they allow you to usurp the username there. I'm asking the renaming here on behalf of fr:User:Buff, who owns the global account with that name. There is already a "Buff" here, so he uses another handle here : Buffoleo. He wishes for the local "Buff" to be renamed, then for his local account "Buffoleo" to be renamed to "Buff" so that he can complete the unification of his accounts. He asked me there to transmit his request. I am aware that the target account "Buff" has made 3 edits, two of which can be considered "substantial", but with SUL finalization coming in less than three weeks, he's going to be renamed anyway : it would be better to do it now, so as to prevent the sulification of "Buffoleo" and to allow the unification of the accounts of fr:User:Buff.
