- Running tests now. Sven Manguard Wha? 01:57, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- I ran a few test batches, and everything worked exactly as it should have (including the edits that I had to revert, which I knew in advance would be there, and knew how to spot from reading the edit summaries). There are 890 files remaining on the task I was working on, but I will wait for the flag. Sven Manguard Wha? 02:43, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- ....and it didn't go exactly as planned. A user named Hartmann Linge has a custom license template that I didn't account for, and which the bot tripped up over. I've tightened up the parameters, and will do another test run as soon as I've undone the bot's previous stumble. Sven Manguard Wha? 17:07, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- The new parameters fixed the problem. Sven Manguard Wha? 18:10, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

- You really need a bot only for replacing license templates? Maybe you like to file a request on COM:BWR. (And before you do a run, pleas simulate the run to avoid errors.) --Steinsplitter (talk) 17:29, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- I did run a bunch manually, but the Hartmann Linge ones were buried in the middle of the list, so I didn't see them. The new find and replace parameters are tighter though, and won't have the same issue. As for your concern about tasks, I don't see why it makes any difference at all how often I need to run the bot; there is no minimum level of activity requirement. I don't really see the point in making a request and waiting for someone else to do a task that I am capable of doing on my own. Sven Manguard Wha? 18:10, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
- Please use human-readable edit summaries. Will be good idea to internationalize section headers at the same time. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 12:45, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
- EugeneZelenko: What do you mean my "human-readable"? The edit summary is "Depreciate redirect, replaced: cc-by}} → cc-by-1.0}}". I think that's pretty clear. If you want, I could say "Depreciating the redirect Template:Cc-by in favor of the destination template, Template:Cc-by-1.0", if you think that's clearer. Sven Manguard Wha? 22:12, 26 June 2014 (UTC)
- This schould look like
Bot: Depreciate redirect, replaced: {{cc-by}} → {{cc-by-1.0}}
--Steinsplitter (talk) 22:49, 26 June 2014 (UTC)- Sure, this will be much better then source/replacement strings. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 13:57, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
- EugeneZelenko, Steinsplitter: I did another test run, this time with the new parameters. The bot performed perfectly. I'd like to get this task finished as soon as possible, because once the template I'm working on deprecating is empty, I can work on fixing the much larger problem that this is wrapped up in. Sven Manguard Wha? 07:17, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Summary looks OK to me, but please diable "section summary" in AWB. --Steinsplitter (talk) 11:10, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Summary, looks OK for me, but could you take care about section headers internationalization at the same time? --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:05, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- I think it would be better to leave that task to YaCBot, which is doing it now. Sven Manguard Wha? 19:10, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

- Me too. :)
- The advantage of YaCBot is that it not only does a whole bunch com:regex-fixes but also a lot non-regex cleanups like category cleanup. However, some of the edits are only cosmetic and the Bot will skip all files which would result in an cosmetic-only edit to the wikitext. So it is actually good not to fix i18n and wait for YaCBot to do a complete cleanup. --McZusatz (talk) 11:09, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
I suggest we approve this request; if no objections are voiced within the next 24 hours, I will close this request as successful myself. Thanks :-) odder (talk) 14:47, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
