Hi, I am here to request for adminiship on Commons. I am Wikijunkie, my Home-Wiki is the German Wiki, where I am registered since September 2008. I am admin there for more than a year and I am active in Commonstransfers as well as Copyvio-Checks in German Wikipedia. Adminship on Commons will help me doing my "job", especially looking at deleted revisions or delete transfered copyvios or cross-wiki Image-Spam. If there is time while working with the transfers, so I would like to help to work on the mass of deletion requests or doing the speedy deletions. --Wikijunkie (talk) 22:59, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

- Support I do not recall any abuses of sysop rights on DE-WP, so I think that he'll not abuse of them here. Given that I think that every helping hand that could be trusted is needed, I support his candidature. Grand-Duc (talk) 23:20, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose This is an experienced editor, with 41,000 global edits, of which 3,800 are on Commons. As a respected Administrator (per Grand-Duc) on WP:DE, I am sure he would be a good Administrator here and, as I've said many times, we need more good Admins. However, as noted below, he has made only seven edits in the Commons: namespace. Being an Admin on Commons requires specialized knowledge and experience which needs to be acquired before asking for the Admin tools. I suggest that Wikijunkie withdraw this request and spend some time adding helpful comments and doing research on DRs and return here when he has more experience. Jim . . . . - Oppose Extremely well put by Jim. Get active in admin matters here and the help would be much appreciated. --Herby talk thyme 14:39, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- Support wonderful person and one of the best administrators on de:WP. Would be a great support in this project! Marcus Cyron (talk) 22:42, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose Per statements above. Thanks for contributing to the Commons in any case. Hekerui (talk) 13:38, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose Per Jim. Concerns with experience. -FASTILY (TALK) 22:34, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

- Neutral I don't know him well enough. And although I understand the concerns of Jim, I also think he wouldn't abuse the tools. Trijnstel (talk) 16:15, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
- Comment I have no doubt that he would not intentionally abuse the tools -- this appears to be someone who would be a very good Admin. What concerns me is two things -- first, it creates a precedent -- we have usually required Users to have several hundred edits in the Commons: namespace to show that they understand what goes on here. Second, how many mistakes will he make while he's learning, even if he is very careful? Why shouldn't we require that the learning be done while making comments and doing research, not while wielding the delete key? Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 17:04, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Comments
- Info 7 edits (without admin-nomination) in commons-namespace and 4 created DRs. Never successfully requested other rights on commons. 97.49% of 3'549 live edits in File Namespace. 22 on user talk-pages --> Not really active in investigating copyvios or not notifying users. Total edits (including deleted): 3'758. Most active in 2010/05 with 1941 edits. -- RE rillke questions? 23:49, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
- Comment It's important for Administrators not to be careless with protocol. Most mistakes can be reversed, but sometimes (e.g. mass deletions) it takes a lot more work than this did. --99of9 (talk) 03:29, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry I didn't see that I have to paste it on the Top. --Wikijunkie (talk) 07:24, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
