Commons:Administrators/Requests/WhiteWriter
I withdraw my nomination for now, per reasons exposed to 99of9, and in order to clear some questions from this nomination. --WhiteWriter speaks 01:35, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
- Another quick note to verify that WhiteWriter has emailed me with an explanation of the issues, and I believe that he is a good faith contributor. I don't think this nomination should be considered prejudicial against future nominations. --99of9 (talk) 03:53, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

I am on wiki since 2005, on commons since 13 November 2006. Most active in the last two years, with more then 4.000 edits for now. Here on commons, i am image reviewer, file mover, patroller and rollbacker. Speak English, Serbian, German and a bit of Italian (last one not so good :). I would love to became admin, as i found interesting pleasure in emptying backlogs, and would love to clear deletion requests, and others from this category lists. Also, interested in all others administrative obligations. I have read carefully COM:GTA, COM:D and COM:A, while others relevant guidelines know from earlier. I am, as reviewer quite familial with commons image licensing. For any other relevant information's or question, i am here, and will be happy to answer. Adminship will be great honor to me, and i will use my tools carefully, as i did with those previously granted to me, on several other wiki projects. WhiteWriter speaks 16:58, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

- Oppose I don`t find that you are a heavy contributor for the project. 4000 edits in 5 years is not many --A.Ceta (talk) 15:37, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose for immediately archiving his talk page after I made a few DRs. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 19:26, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Ooo, not fair reason, i usually love to have archived page when i don't use bots to do it... And it was 14 posts on page already. --WhiteWriter speaks 19:29, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

- Question What other wikis have you had admin rights on? --Herby talk thyme 19:27, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- No, not admin rights, i thought rights generally. Sorry if i was unclear! :) --WhiteWriter speaks 19:37, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Can you explain how you chose the license for File:Sokolica_Monastery_compound.jpg (as an example of many of your uploads)? --99of9 (talk) 04:06, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- I added permission for this file, same as for all others from pictureskosovo.free.fr. Author gave us rights for all images on that web cite. I somehow forgot to add it there, it was uploaded just during uploadwizard establishment, so i had to add licence separately, and i somehow forgot to do it then. --WhiteWriter speaks 12:49, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Do you think the Picasa uploader of this file File:Entropia Universe landscape.jpg was the copyright owner and entitled to license it? --99of9 (talk) 04:15, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Well, i got information that several images was released under by-sa 3.0 for promotional purposes for games new base software CryENGINE 2. And those images was on projectentopia website also. But i cannot find that promotion now, as entropia universe have new website now... Without it, it should be deleted, as only link now on line is Flickr, which is pointless. I didn't know usage of review templates, that someone saw it then, it will be more logic... I will tag it, sorry. --WhiteWriter speaks 12:49, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Where did your new version of File:Crown_of_Nemanjić.gif come from? Don't you think it deserves a different filename, its own description, and its own license? --99of9 (talk) 04:19, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- OK, this is just wrong now, and i removed it. I was not aware of Commons:OVERWRITE back then, so i added "better" file for the same subject, which i found from a creators website... It was actually also in the PD, so i remembered that i thought then that is was "ok", as both files have the same licence... You should know that i was not aware of all commons guidelines, and i did have mistakes in the past (as all others did), but i am sure that those and similar errors cannot pass unnoticed anymore. That is also my theory, that users with bigger rights should be even more careful then others, in order to be example to other editors. --WhiteWriter speaks 12:39, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Comment Good answers, thanks. I'm not worried that you have made mistakes in the past, as long as your knowledge is good enough now to identify them, your temperament is good enough to admit them, and they get fixed to set a good example. I do have another question though... --99of9 (talk) 13:08, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- What digital cameras have you owned or had access to? Your claims of own work include pictures from about 10 different cameras, including very good ones that were only used once, and some are missing exif. Did you take all those pictures? --99of9 (talk) 13:08, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- By a personal possibility, i have and had a vast number of different cameras in my personal possession (for a short period of time, though...) That is the reason for all those cameras. And i did created all of those photos, but i would notice that it may be possible that even more cameras may be listed as used in the future. But only important thing to us is author, not cameras (thankfully :). I have several that are personally mine, also. Pentacon Praktica DVC 5.4 HDMI, KODAK C340 ZOOM DIGITAL CAMERA, and Canon EOS. Those three may appear more often! :) --WhiteWriter speaks 13:48, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Just a quick note to verify that WhiteWriter has explained the nature of this "personal possibility" to me by email. --99of9 (talk) 13:53, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

- Why are some {{own}} photos (like File:Predrag Miletic.JPG and File:Oliver Njego.JPG) so much better than for example the image that you selected for User:WhiteWriter/Credits? /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 17:50, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Because i like that image with trees, and it have some specific personal meaning to me. I didnt want to place the best image i have, but the one i like the most. :) And those images are usually not the one that i like the most, but the one i need during editing. The best of mine are not on commons (people usually)... :) --WhiteWriter speaks 19:04, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Why does File:Slobomir University.jpg appear here credited to Milan Radulović? --99of9 (talk) 00:28, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
- Did you upload File:Subotica centar.jpg to a local wiki before uploading to Commons? If so, do you remember which wiki/filename? It appeared elsewhere on the web before 2010. --99of9 (talk) 00:59, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
