Hello all, Hereby I want to sign up for adminship. A user suggested me to become admin. On nl-wiki/elsewhere I answer often questions about licenses and move often files from several local projects to Commons. At the moment I am organizing Wiki Loves Monuments in Belgium and Luxembourg in what I each day check they uploaded files. Furthermore I often serve as troubleshooter and help people with answering questions. Romaine (talk) 15:13, 2 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • What a collection of uploads! Great! One question: What do you intend to do with you administrator-group-rights? I assume for setting up the photo-projects? Kind regards -- RE rillke questions? 12:32, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • What I will do with administrator-group-rights is stopping asking admins if I am sure with what I am doing, and do the job myself. Recently that involved adding translations to secured templates, creating/editing MediaWiki system messages for the uploadwizard, sometimes handling copyvio images coming from other websites, answering questions about deleted files, deleting duplicate files. These things I asked admins in the past, I perhaps forgot some more, and the adminship involves more. Romaine (talk) 13:08, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment It is since September 2003 that I am active on Wikimedia projects with this account, but became much more active in 2008. Romaine (talk) 13:09, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please enable e-mail and Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary in Special:Preferences. Will be good idea to use standard Commons:Babel templates on user page. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:52, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • In some way it got switched off, I enabled email now. Babel added to my user/talkpage. To me babel isn't perfect, because I can understand more languages than what I can write in, babel is limited in that. Greetings - Romaine (talk) 15:34, 3 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Further to Eugene's request, I call your attention to the following from Commons:Administrators:
"You should expect as an admin to make yourself available on Commons to a reasonable extent (a userpage that asks people to leave messages for you on some other project is not considered acceptable practice for an admin)."      Jim . . . .
