如何分類和整理圖像

有人會在其他維基項目中使用你的圖片做條目插圖，所以將你的文件放到維基共享資源的某個條目或分類中是非常關鍵的，否則你的很有價值的文件可能沒有被人利用。

放到條目中比僅僅加上分類更有利，有可以保持更多的信息，更容易被人發現。早好的例子是條目火星。

根據條目的名稱可以分辨出是「條目」還是「分類」，沒有前綴的是條目，有前綴「Category:」的是分類，有「Image:」的僅僅是圖片頁面，你可以很容易根據這些分辨出不同的內容。

將圖片加上分類和為條目加分類一樣，只是在圖片頁面上加上如下分類即可：

[[Category:指定的頁面分類]]

要注意的是：不要為一個圖片加上兩個以上的分類，分類多了並不能更容易地尋找它，盡量讓它有比較獨特的位置。另外不要將圖片放到大分類下，盡量尋找合適的特別分類，可以利用分類樹找到合適的分類。

要將圖片加入條目，只要打開條目頁面，點擊「edit」，出現如下頁面：

你可以將自己的圖片如下表示添加到兩個gallery語句之間（一個是打開語句，一個是關閉語句）：

Image:你的圖片名稱.jpg|簡短的敘述

然後保存，在gallery裡不要使用[[ 和 ]]這種外框。對於音像文件也使用同樣的方法，不過顯示出來的只是一個示意圖像，如下例：
