Valencian Community

[edit]

{{Editprotected}} In the English lede here would it be possible for the "English: the Land of Valencia is an autonomous community of Spain" be amended to "English: the Land of Valencia, also known as the Valencian Community, is an autonomous community of Spain"?
The corresponding English wikipedia parent category is named en:Category:Valencian Community. Using that in lede here could help readers recognize Land of Valencia = Valencian Community (in en:wiki terms) and differentiate from the other "Valencias," the province of Valencia , city of Valencia, and vernacular "Valencia" region. Thank you—Look2See1 (talk) 18:34, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It took us many months and edit wars to get to this compromise. And if you follow commons conventions, it should be named such as the other autonomous communities; autonomous community of Madrid, ... --Foroa (talk) 18:52, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. --Martin H. (talk) 02:05, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Recategorization

[edit]

{{Edit request}} Could you please modify the supcategory [[Category:Catalan Countries]] to [[Category:Territories of the Catalan Countries|Valencia]] (which is a subcategory of the former one)? This is the right category to put the Land of Valencia, with the other territories of the Catalan Countries. And pay attention to include the short key Valencia. Thank you. --Albert Villanova del Moral (talk) 10:12, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me?...the land of valencia it isn't a part of teh Catalan Countries (whatever It was)... Valencia is an Autonomous Community of the Spanish State, since it is Catalonia, independent both the one of other one. The conception of the existence of the so called Catalan Countries is not any more than an offer that it does not have an official recongnition, AFAIK.--Marctaltor (talk) 13:09, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, I think that above all we should keep in mind that the purpose of categories is to classify and help find files, not to support any particular political idea. Some people like to think that every place where the Catalan language is spoken constitutes a "Catalan country" whereas other people find it insulting to call Valencia a "Catalan country". I am sure that none of these people are going to change their point of view based on what we may decide regarding Commons categories. That said, I would like to point out a couple of facts:
Now I let the readers extract their own conclusions. Regards, --Hispalois (talk) 06:38, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

is VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

[edit]

Hello ¿Who writes "the state of valencia" or "land of valencia" or "valencia country" or other nonsenses?¿? The Spanish Constitution, and the regional Statute of Autonomy of Valencian Community voted in referendum by the people of Valencian Community says that the ONLY and OFFICIAL name of this region of SPAIN is:

  • COMUNIDAD VALENCIANA (in Spanish language)
  • COMUNITAT VALENCIANA (in Catalan language)

in English language, it can be translated by VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

¿sources?

SPANISH CONSTITUTION

  • "CHAPTER 3
* Self-governing Communities
* Section 147
1. Within the terms of the present Constitution, Statutes of Autonomy shall be the basic institutional rule of each Self-governing Community and the State shall recognize and protect them as an integral part of its legal system.
2. The Statutes of Autonomy must contain:
a) The name of the Community which best corresponds to its historic identity"

...

SO... ¿what does it say the regional Statute of Autonomy of Comunitat Valenciana - Valencian Community ?¿? ...

- go to Spanish Congress web page of Spanish Constitution
- go to "Estatutos de Autonomía" (Autonomous regional Statutes)
- go to "Comunitat Valenciana" :-P

...

STATUTE OF AUTONOMY OF VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

  • "The Valencian People, historically organized as the Kingdom of Valencia, constitutes Autonomous Community within the unity of the Spanish nation as an expression of their distinct identity as a historical nationality and the right of self-government that the Spanish Constitution recognizes every nationality, under the name of VALENCIAN COMMUNITY".

SO... the official and widely accepted and recognised by valencian people, Regional Statutes, Spanish Constitution, spanish people, european people, United Nations, and whole Universe is VALENCIAN COMMUNITY. Stop secessionists and terrorists invents.

Wikipedia is in danger if a few seccesionists of the north of little Region of Catalonia have SEIZED the catalan language (Catalonia, Valencian Community, Balearic Islands, etc...) section of this web. SHAMEFUL

[edit]

Please STOP violent and goebbelian minority secessionism in ca.wikipedia.org Please be enciclopaedic. Please be enciclopaedic. thanks
