Category:Kyanjin Gompa
[edit]@Nirmal Dulal: In which way is Category:Kyanjin Gompa different from Category:Kyanjin Village? As far as I can tell from the contained photographs, both entities are at least close to each other. And my impression is that also other people do not know the difference when categorising photographs. Should "Kyanjin Gompa" only be used for the gompa itself ? --Kuhni74 (talk) 15:38, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Kuhni74 "Gompa" is a local language for Buddhist spiritual compound where teachings may be given and lineage sādhanās may be stored. I think we can use "Kyanjin Village" or "Kyanjin Valley" for the categorization of the place.--Nirmal Dulal (talk) 11:18, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Nirmal Dulal: Thank you very much for your answer. I'm aware that Gompa is the religious building, but in all maps known to me, the village is called "Kyanjin Gompa", too, which is quite confusing. Equally confusing is the question what Langtang stands for - see Category talk:Kyanzin Valley. Can you help us there, too? --Kuhni74 (talk) 11:24, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
