Walter Loepert (1886-1942) was murdered during the Holocaust. He lived at Xantener Strasse 7 in Berlin where there is a stolpersteine to honor him. The District office of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf writes: "Walter Loepert was born on April 12, 1886 in Schlawe in Pomerania. By profession he was a businessman or, according to the Berlin address book from 1941, a sales representative. He lived in the back building on the second floor. His wife was born Käthe Salomon on February 22, 1900 in Berlin. The couple had two daughters, the older one was called Eva and was born on July 17, 1925 in Berlin, the younger one was called Annemarie and was also born in Berlin on April 25, 1929. The Loepert family was deported together to the Piaski ghetto on March 28, 1943. The Piaski Ghetto was a smaller ghetto in Lublin County, Poland. It existed between April 1941 and 1943. The approximately 9,000 internees were murdered in Belzec or Sobibor. Walter Loepert's sister Margaret Biel managed to emigrate. She applied for compensation from the USA in the 1950s ."
