The w:Unkar Group, lowest unit of the Grand Canyon Supergroup (Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA).

Members:

5--en:Cardenas Basalt, (Cardenas Lavas)-(erosion resistant, island mtn ranges, (en:monadnocks) in Tapeats Sandstone-(Tapeats Sea), the Tapeats laid horizontally surrounding mtn periphery)
4--w:Dox Formation
3--en:Shinumo Quartzite-(erosion resistant, island mtn ranges, (en:monadnocks) in Tapeats Sandstone-(Tapeats Sea), the Tapeats laid horizontally surrounding mtn periphery)
2--en:Hakatai Shale
1--en:Bass Limestone, (on Vishnu Schist)

The Bass Limestone is above the Vishnu Schist, etc. (Vishnu Group)(. All the members dip at a 10-15 degree angle, with the horizontal Tapeats Sandstone above, or other non-Tapeats units.

A major paleo-fault-(vertical) of the Vishnu Schist—Unkar units, changes the contact with other regional Grand Canyon units above.}}
