The Ghanaian politician Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, popularly called "Asabee" or "Asa B", was born on the 18th of August, 1958 in Ghana. He grew up in Konongo (Ashanti Region), although he's seeing himself as descendant of the Borbor-Fante (= The main stream of Fanti groups coming from the Kingdom Bono (region around of Takyiman) moved to the coast to begin of the 16th century.). He was in the governments of President Kufuor:
- - 2003: Deputy Minister for Information and National Orientation
- - 2003 – 31 Jul 2007: Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment
- - 1 Aug 2007 – 2009: Minister for Tourism and Diasporean Relations
Beside of this, he was the NPP candidate for the constituency Mfantseman (Mfantseman West) of the Central Region at the Parliamentary Elections in Ghana 2004 (elected), 2008 and 2012 (not elected).
He was charged before the court 2014 for corruption and conspiracy to defraud the state in coincidence with the misappropriation of 87,000 GHC from public moneys during his time as minister.
