St Cuthbert's Church, Consett was completed to the design of architect John Dobson in 1850. Architect John Wilson Walton-Wilson extended it by adding a choir, vestry, organ housing and south aisle which were completed in 1886.
The location of St Cuthbert's Church Hall and St Cuthbert's Church is called variously Consett and Shotley Bridge. However they are situated close together on a road called Church Bank. St Cuthbert's Vicarage, also located nearby, was designed and completed by John Dobson along with the church in 1850.
