The Margadale River, originating on the southwestern slopes of Margadale Hill, flows through Margadale, Islay. Collecting the waters of numerous tributaries, it is joined by a right-bank tributary, Abhainn Araig, before entering Bunnahabhain Bay north of the distillery.
