Durant Motors operated in Michigan in the USA from 1921-31. In 1921 William Durant founded his own company, the Durant Motor Company, he produced the Star, Locomobile, Flint and Rugby cars, he also acquired luxury car maker Locomobile and Mason Trucks. Durant was the local brand, Rugby was for export. Beside badges and right hand drive for some models the Rugby was identical to Durant's Star car. The Rugby was built from 1923 (Star: 1922) and production ended in 1928 together with the Star.
