English: American was a make of automobile manufactured in New Jersey from 1917 to 1924. It used the brand names American Balanced Six or American Six. The manufacturer merged with the Northway and the Winther brand, became Amalgamated Motors in 1923, and retired the name American. It is not related to the pre-1914 "American" or 1950s-1980s AMC.
