Petrol pagodas
[edit]Several companies operated refueling stations at the motor circuit, and three of these 'pagodas' have survived and been restored to period early 1920s condition:
- The 1920 Pratts (later Esso) petrol pagoda 51°21′12″N 0°27′51″W / 51.353469°N 0.464231°W, a double-block east of the main entrance, facing north
- The 1920 BP petrol pagoda 51°21′16″N 0°27′53″W / 51.354363°N 0.464859°W, which is to the south west of the clubhouse and faces west
- The Shell petrol pagoda 51°21′17″N 0°27′50″W / 51.354812°N 0.463856°W, which is to the north east of the clubhouse and faces south

[edit]Flight Ticket Office
[edit]The Flight Ticket Office is a brick and timber hut originally built for Keith Prowse in 1911 on the aerodrome to sell tickets for flights around the aerodrome and is believed to be the world's first example of its type. It has since been relocated inside the museum grounds, and now stands 51°21′18″N 0°27′57″W / 51.354949°N 0.465835°W near the Brooklands Memorial, facing south onto the road that comes into the museum across the River Wey bridge from Brooklands Drive.

[edit]World War II defences
[edit]As an important aircraft manufacturing facility, various defences were added during World War II. Some of these survive inside the museum site, including a unique design of hexagonal pillbox 51°21′20″N 0°27′53″W / 51.355502°N 0.464859°W in the Paddock, a Bofors gun platform 51°21′20″N 0°27′42″W / 51.355542°N 0.461715°W built at the top of Members Hill, and three brick-built semi-underground air raid shelters built into the Members' Banking section of track, 51°21′23″N 0°27′44″W / 51.356279°N 0.462161°W (east), 51°21′22″N 0°27′43″W / 51.356162°N 0.461892°W (middle), 51°21′22″N 0°27′42″W / 51.356032°N 0.461673°W (west), which is at the rear of Members' Hill. These shelters were built in late 1940 when a hangar was built into the adjacent banked track and used as a well-camouflaged dispersed production facility for Vickers Wellington and later Warwick aircraft.

Acquired from BAE Systems' former Dunsfold airfield in 2000, it originally stood outside on its own, inside the Paddock, east of the Clubhouse and south of the Wellington Hangar, facing SSE. After major restoration and with a replacement Harrier GR3 wing fitted, it was carefully installed 'flying' above a new Brooklands Aircraft Factory exhibition in the restored and relocated Bellman Hangar in 2017.

[edit]- While it is neither an aviation related bus or part of the London Bus Museum collection, the Brooklands Museum has nonetheless also been the home of ex-London Transport 1966 Routemaster bus RML2504 (reg. JJD 504D) since its withdrawal in September 2004, having been purchased by a museum volunteer in February 2005.
