Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Poor file names

Hello Xrzt! I've corrected the badly spelled filenames of your files nominated for the January Challenge. With the button 'show preview' you always can check the outcome of your edits. In this case, the missing image would had shown, that your edit was not valid. Btw: please give your pictures more meaningful names: Arlington National Cemetary (2).jpg and Boggy_bayou_mangrove_(4).jpg have no significant difference to those files without numbering (who themselves are rather/too ambiguous). - and categories are missing too ! --PtrQs (talk) 12:49, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

wrong filename

as before (see above): your entry File: Sprint start high school track meet.jpg|Hillsborough High school district track meet Tampa, FL in Challenge 2021 - April - Angles and Squares did not lead to any existing image. So I found your picture Sprint start Hillsborough District Track.jpg and replaced the wrong name. Be aware: for unknown but unfortunate reasons, the file names you insert into the challenge entry-section, should be the same as an existing file in Commons. Wiki Loves Monuments in the United States 2021

Hello! Last year you contributed to Wiki Loves Monuments 2020 in the United States. Thanks to people like you, it was a great success with over 1,000 people contributing almost 6,000 photos of cultural and historic sites from all over the country. Hundreds of these photos now help illustrate Wikipedia articles, improving our open knowledge about United States history, culture, and heritage. If you haven't seen the winners yet, be sure to check them out here.

I'm pleased to say that we're back this year with Wiki Loves Monuments 2021 in the United States through the month of October, and I'd like to welcome you to participate once again in the event. Check out our updated event page for more information.

Wiki Loves Folklore 2022 is on!

You are humbly invited to participate in the Wiki Loves Folklore 2022 an international photography contest organized on Wikimedia Commons to document folklore and intangible cultural heritage from different regions, including, folk creative activities and many more. It is held every year from the 1st till the 28th of February.

Greetings from Wiki Loves Folklore International Team!

Wiki Loves Folklore is an international photography contest hosted on Wikimedia Commons to document folklore and intangible cultural heritage from around the world, such as folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, folktales, folk games, folk religion, mythology, and many more.

The campaign invites participants to document photographs, videos, and audios linked to folk culture and fit within the contest's theme. Through this campaign, you may become a part of a community dedicated to preserving our intangible culture, which has been brought and passed down for thousands of years.

How to Contribute?

The dates for the submission in the photography contest on Wikimedia Commons are from 1 February to 31 March 2023. Probably you are wondering how you can take part. It’s simple: grab a camera, record an image, video or audio under the folklore theme and start uploading ! To learn more about the rules, check out our Project page on Wikimedia Common. Here are the exciting prizes which you can win internationally.
