Admin nomination
You're up at Commons:Administrators/Requests and votes now. Probably want to leave an acceptance notice so people don't think I'm just harassing you. :-) Stan Shebs 12:39, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Stan. I've added my acceptance and a little bit about my interests and experience. -Wsiegmund 14:33, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for voting in my RFA. I've been too busy at work do any Admin stuff yet, but will make a start soon. --MichaelMaggs 19:57, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Good show! I can't think of a better candidate for admin, especially for work here on commons.--MONGO 04:44, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Number of images belonging to a category and its subcats
To count all images within a category I used Catscan[1] and entered Fabaceae into search category, set the depth to 4, ticked the "for all images" box and ticked the "csv" output box. I then copied and pasted the list into an application that counted lines. If you don't tick "csv" it will try and display all the images instead of listing them (but does print the number of images found at the end of the list) :-). Need to be careful with the depth field to ensure it goes deep enough, but limit it to something reasonable just in case someone has added a non taxo subcategory somewhere that branches into a huge number of other images. There may be easier ways to count them, let me know if you find a way :-) --Tony Wills 00:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- Just checked and found there was one branch that went 5 levels deep, so there are actually 1800 images :-)
- Cool! I get 1802. Thank you. Wsiegmund 02:16, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
