File tagging File:CosmoEditoriale-Hans1.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:CosmoEditoriale-Hans1.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

- Hi 太刻薄, thanks for the advice. The image was imported from my same load on Wikipedia Italy. Even in Wikipedia the volunteers have reported to me a problem with copyright, although I have requested the rights at their respective owners, and although I have sent everything already in 2014 to the e-mail address you indicated. I'll try to resolve the situation, then I'll adjust the information here. --Wiccio (talk) 08:38, 20 May 2015 (UTC)

See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons, and Commons:Image casebook for some specific examples. Some other Wikimedia projects have different licensing policies. For example, the English Wikipedia allows fair use of sounds and photographs. This is not the case on Wikimedia Commons; "fair use" materials are not acceptable here.
Please make sure that you only upload educational content you have created yourself, those which are out of copyright, or those for which you have the required permission for the work to be used in all the ways described above. Please note that derivative works of copyrighted material are also considered copyrighted. Again, please read through Commons:Licensing, which is quite crucial, to understanding how Wikimedia Commons works. Thanks for your contribution, and please do leave me a message if you have further questions.Yours sincerely, Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 05:10, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- Ciao Hedwig in Washington, thanks for the advice. As also stated in the discussion above, I had encountered problems with acceptance of copyright already in the main image upload, on Wikipedia Italy. Now the error is fixed on Wikipedia but I support the elimination of the same image here on Commons. More ahead I will move again the following image with the correct procedure. --79.26.241.136 11:38, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
File:Mercoledi-locandina.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

- Hi @Tanbiruzzaman, I apologize for the mistake. But I ask you: how is it possible that this poster could be uploaded to en.wiki? Couldn't I upload the Italian poster for the same purpose, to be used on it.wiki? --Wiccio (talk) 18:49, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Wiccio. You can't upload any copyrighted content in Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content, that is, images and other media files that are not subject to copyright restrictions which would prevent them being used by anyone, anytime, for any purpose.
- But you can upload non-free content on local wiki with valid rationale indicating why its usage would be considered fair use within Wikipedia. To do this on your local wiki please use it:special:upload. Thanks. Tanbiruzzaman (talk) 19:03, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Tanbiruzzaman you've been very clear and patient. Thank you very much! ;-) --Wiccio (talk) 19:42, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Copyright violations
[edit]
Hello Wiccio.
You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful. This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions. |

- Hi @Jeff G., thanks for your help. Regarding your question about the determination of the PD-textlogo template, I thought it was appropriate because, as the template description itself says, it applies to "images that consist only of simple geometric shapes and/or text". I recently started using Commons and I admit that I had difficulty understanding which images are protected by copyright and which are not, but I saw the logos of TV series and animated series uploaded by an expert user in the same way (an example here) and I thought it could be done. Could you explain to me my error in managing the logos I uploaded, so that I can possibly correct them without me being blocked like an unwelcome user? --Wiccio (talk) 08:16, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Wiccio: Please follow Commons:Deletion requests/Some files in Anime television series logos. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 16:14, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
