Description and Categories

[edit]

Hello Rogelio and Daniel aka Vazquitopty and welcome to Wikimedia Commons!

Please read through the introduction and tips at the top of this page, this will help you find out more about how to do things here. You can read it in Spanish by simply clicking on 'Español' at the top and the Spanish version will appear. I speak a little Spanish and understand it a bit, but if you want help from someone who speaks it better, you could ask User:Ezarate for example.

So the description is always written on the file's page where it says 'Summary'. You click on [edit] next to it and write a proper description after the text that says |description= and before the {{... There is a blank space where you start. The description should include something about the building and where it is like, town, country and so on. You can read more about this at Commons:Guide to layout.

The Categories are listed at the bottom of the file's page. You add or delete them by opening the whole page for editing. Click on the 'Edit' at the very top of the page, it is the tab between 'View' and 'History'. You will then see the categories when you scroll down.

Categories are used so that those who want to use the picture can find it. You should add categories about what kind of monument it is, where it is and other things you can think of regarding the picture. There is a help page about how to do this at Commons:Categories or in Spanish at Commons:Categorías. I hope this will help you. Best, cart-Talk 19:58, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
