Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.--EugeneZelenko 15:35, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Lathe images
[edit]I'm glad they are of use.
If you are able to, could you add an appropriate translation to the talk pages of
- Image_talk:HwacheonCentreLathe-headstock-mask_legend.jpg
- Image_talk:HwacheonCentreLathe-carriage-mask_legend.jpg
- Image_talk:HwacheonCentreLathe-tailstock-mask_legend.jpg
I've placed the english under == Legend-en == so just create a header == Legend-de == and fill in what you can.
It'd be good if you can, but no drama if you cannot. Cheers, — Graibeard (talk) 07:45, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for that, and your english is fine!
- H2 selects the intermediate gears (within the range High or Low), H3 selects between the High and Low ranges. What do you suggest regarding The components of H6 could be better marked? There are three levers that select between two or three gears, while the rod selector picks one of eight gears from a spindle, the combination of these lever positions is chosen from the chart. Perhaps a picture of the chart and a mention of which letters correspond to which lever might work? — Graibeard (talk) 10:53, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose you mean the black board between H1 and H6. Thats a goog idea.-Ussschrotti 13:38, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
lathe
[edit]Can't help you with the dxf file, my first suggestion would have been to use a CAD program but you mention qcad and kicad, I would have thought qcad would do the trick but obviously not.
If it's any help there are Image:MoriSeikiLathe.jpg, Image:MoriSeiki-examples.jpg and Image:MoriSeiki-setting.jpg that I've uploaded which can be used. We still have the machine so I can take more photos at specific angles/areas if you want something different? I can make a start on the layers (using the GIMP) and you can then use the resulting .xcf file and modify it to suit your needs. — Graibeard (talk) 10:53, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- What I want is picture of a CNC lathe without the enclosure. So I call the company and (I talked with the marketing chief, he asked me:what is wikipedia, pleas send it to me in a email) got a very nice CAD file, where you can see all the components which are typical for a CNC lathe. Next week I´m goint to try to persuade one of my colleague to edit it with AutoCAD or Catia. But perhaps you want to mark the components of the files Image:Bearbeitungszentrum Schnittmodel Hermle 02.jpg or Image:Bearbeitungszentrum Schnittmodell Hermle 01.jpg. Thx and so long --Ussschrotti 14:00, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

File tagging File:5-Achsen Bearbeitungszentrum.jpg
[edit]This media was probably deleted.

Thanks for uploading File:5-Achsen Bearbeitungszentrum.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:5-Achsen Bearbeitungszentrum.jpg ) and the above demanded information in your request. |
