Postcards
[edit]Hallo UjuiUjuMandan, thanks fro uploading so many postcards. Did you know COM:WPPC. You are welcome. Best regards. --sk (talk) 15:27, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
- @Stefan Kühn: Hallo Stefan. Thank you for informing. Although until now I only focus on postcards regarding a limited period (1905-1945) and a limited area (Manchuria), I do think it is nice of you to inform. I will check what I can improve. --UjuiUjuMandan (talk) 07:41, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
- Can you add a coordinate at Category:Sakako Shrine. I don't know where this shrine is located. This would help. Thanks. --sk (talk) 07:47, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- Even I know where it is, it is difficult for me to gain the exact coord due to the Restrictions_on_geographic_data_in_China. Let me try. -- UjuiUjuMandan (talk) 10:17, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Stefan Kühn: Done :) --UjuiUjuMandan (talk) 10:29, 12 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. I don't know this restrictions from China. Wow. Crazy. With your input I can use my tool and add Category:Postcards of Liaoning to this postcards. But I see we can also create a Category:Postcards of Dalian. --sk (talk) 05:39, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Stefan Kühn: Anyway it is done. The position error shall be at most 50 meters. If you check with Google Map or other non-Chinese online maps, you will see the Satellite layer does not match the road map layer. My personal workaround is to find some big crossing (such as an interchange in this case) and compare the position difference between the 2 layers, and get the coords according to the satellite layer :D.
- I do see you have a good tool to mark categories according to coords. Later maybe I can learn to use your tool? Or does it run automatically? I can try to add more coords to categories. I do have uploaded old postcards in Liaoning Province. -- UjuiUjuMandan (talk) 06:15, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
- I see I can run that tool by inputting file (page) name and search. --UjuiUjuMandan (talk) 06:20, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
- You can also use the category name. Like this example. And if you add better categories or structur data (SDC), then the tool can better find a good postcard-category. Sorry, at the moment I have no documentation for this tool.--sk (talk) 14:01, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
