Permissions

Hi and thanks for validating the permissions on the latest photos I uploaded ! The most important work still to be done are the images in Category:Lumières Awards 2015, which I uploaded two days ago. Normally, two messages were sent for these. I hope I didn't forget some of the urls in the message I prepared for the author : when they're validated I'll be able to see if some permissions are missing. @JJ Georges: Actually, some were indeed missing. I've asked the author to send the permission for all files in this category & I think those are all from the category you mentioned. Re: the other upload

When I work here, you'll see front and back of photos as the first upload unless there's something like a copyright check for original registrations or renewals noted on the template. When I change photos at en:WP to PD licenses, I do the same thing to offer proof that the photo is in the public domain. There's a big bunch yet to move here-I think most are movie posters and lobby cards. Said I felt sorry for the person who usually does the "move to Commons" tagging there because I think there are maybe 100 or more! :-) We hope (talk) 21:04, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi Tr, need you help. I contacted a photographer about some photos, he gave me the permission, but I have a few time to tell him about the result of the allowance. I don't think I can handle my own tickets, so I need someone to validate it. I contacted some of my fellow Portuguese speakers, But I didn't receive feedback and I need it fast. New Russavia sock puppet

On one of my deletion requests for a Russavia video file with claer copyright violation, I got this comment. Other "contributions" by this IP included this. Which made it quite reasonable to assume this was Russavia. The IP is now blocked for cross-wiki spam / proxy)). It's not clear if the blocking mod realized this was Russavia.

On two other Russavia video deletion requests I now got these comments: [1] and [2].

It seems safe to assume that User:Maldiveanavia is new sock of Russavia. His lists of "contributions" on commons is steadily growing (including new file uploads). Outside of Commons I only see a contrib on Wikidata, but that may change. I think globally locking is in order. Whaledad (talk) 20:15, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

Hoi Trijnstel! Ik zag ineens een hartje staan bovenaan bij Commons. Dat blijkt te zijn om een medegebruiker de liefde te betuigen een blijk van waardering te geven. Bij wie kan ik dat dan beter eens uitproberen dan bij de beste Wikipediaan die de wereld rijk is? Bij deze een paar lekkere stroopwafels. (je houdt toch wel van stroopwafels?). I found ticket:2015050410020317, found the history, and merged to ticket:2015031710033088 However, I am guessing that the original is locked to you, so I am unable to reply that the permission has been accepted. Hi could you please check again, maybe tomorrow ? The guy said he'd look if he had made a mistake and resend the email if necessary. No problem, I thought he'd send it tomorrow. As you can see from this category, he has already contributed to commons so he is trustworthy but the proceedings tend to mistify him (not that I blame him) : I take care of everything for him but he might have made a mistake in sending it. If you find nothing tomorrow, I'll ask him again. As for the other photo, could I ask you to validate it ? For, er.... "cultural" reasons we tend to use it a lot on the French wikipedia and it would be a pity to lose it. :))) Thanks JJ Georges (talk) 22:18, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi Bidgee! No, actually I was busy adding photos on my homewiki (nlwiki). I noticed this photo via the addition on Wikidata and I always crosscheck on other projects. On enwiki I saw that an anononymous user changed the description. I checked it by searching for photos on Google and it turned out to be right. :) So that's why I changed the title and description on Commons etc as well. If I get an email via OTRS I usually mention the ticket number in the edit summary. With regards, Trijnstel_talk 21:20, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

Cannes photos

Hi,

I don't know if you've noticed, but I've been uploading an awful lot of photos from the latest Cannes film festival. I'll certainly upload more in the next few days. If you or another volunteer have the time to validate those I have already uploaded, it would be really helpful. I have also uploaded a new version of File:Taviani brothers Cannes 2015.jpg with a much better resolution, and asked the photographer to send a new authorization for this version.
