File:Angels Logo.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.) Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Hughcolvinvc.jpg, is missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted.
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. File:BurnleyCoA.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

- P.S. I'll re-draw the arms with a higher spec and with a free-to-use licence. That version is protected by copyright I'm afraid sorry. Jza84 (talk) 22:45, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Harle Syke and the mills.
[edit]Sorry if I trod on any toes while I was gathering together all the Queen Street Mill images. I was working on the new Queen Street Mill article this morning, thinking that I should move those images into a sub cat, when suddenly I found it had been done- that was a nice surprise. Well, I have the first draft of the mill article up so you might like to be the first to edit it.
I visited the mill Tuesday chasing images and info for Lancashire Loom and had a great visit. I have a to do list that...no, don't start. So if you are short of ideas! --ClemRutter (talk) 21:59, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
Suggestion
[edit]Please exercise much more care when you do your edits. The next time you should use the "show preview" button. Thanks. Angelus (talk) 01:31, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what about that particular series of edits makes you think that I am unaware of my mistake :) --Trappedinburnley (talk) 01:37, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- Well. If you are aware of your errors, next time you may use the preview function. However, please respond in my talk page, or at least you should warn me of the response. Greetings. Angelus (talk) 01:55, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- Some people would have taken my rhetorical response and the lack of a TB as a sign that I see no point in discussing this any further, but not you it seems. My mistake was assuming that redirect template would operate in the same way as Wikipedia, and then assuming that the typo I had made was the cause of the problem. I must say the tone of your totally unnecessary warning feels very welcoming (sarcasm). If you feel that my crime is that great, maybe I should ban myself from volunteering at the Geograph UK upload project as a punishment. That would be a real shame, because I do so enjoy categorising photos that I have zero interest in! --Trappedinburnley (talk) 13:55, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- There is no need to play the part of the victim. I've never talked about crime. I simply warned to use the preview function, next time. And I simply asked you to do a little more attention. However, I replaced the title "warning" with the title "suggestion". So, perhaps, what I wrote will seem more "welcoming". And so I would like to close the issue. Greetings and good job. Please stop edit warring on the file by rotating the image 180 degrees. This is disruptive. Fry1989 eh? 19:45, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- Which way up is the image supposed to be? In my view I've been trying to correct a blatant error. I've clearly explained the fault and attempted to discuss both here and here. I think accusing me of being disruptive here is outrageous! --Trappedinburnley (talk) 23:42, 9 September 2015 (UTC)
- As shown in the coat of arms of these Lancashire councils, convention dictates that the middle sepal on the Lancashire rose points upwards. Sources Lancashire Evening Post - New Flag Regimental handbook of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment p21. Aside from reverting again, the only option I can see is to remove this image from the relevant WP articles and go back to the old one (File:Lancashire rose.svg).--Trappedinburnley (talk) 18:06, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
- I have no position, as I have seen the rose face both ways. I am simply asking you to stop reverting. You can ping the other users on the discussion page and find an agreement. Fry1989 eh? 20:28, 10 September 2015 (UTC)
- I would point out that I contacted the original author (@User:Sodacan) two months ago and @User:Cathy Richards five days ago. I fail to see how a post on the file's talk page will get me any more of a response? How long without a response is acceptable to you in this situation? --Trappedinburnley (talk) 20:48, 10 September 2015 (UTC)

September 2019: it's Wiki Loves Monuments time again!
[edit]Hi
You're receiving this message because you've previously contributed to the annual Wiki Loves Monuments contest in the UK. We'd be delighted if you would do so again this year and help record our local built environment for future generations.
You can find more details at the Wiki Loves Monuments UK website. Or, if you have images taken in other countries, you can check the international options. This year's contest runs until 30 September 2019.
Many thanks for your help once more! MichaelMaggs (talk) 15:35, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
