CNG pictures
[edit]CNG published the pics under a Creative Commons license. It means you may upload the pics under the same license. Remember to indicate the url where you got the pic (the whole Url).
- for instance:
{{Information |Description = {{Multilingual description |la= Denarius |fr= Denier }} |Source= https://www.cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=143679 |Author= CNG |Permission= {{CNG}} }} [[Category:Gens Cornelia]]
Write me if you need more help. There is also a project about numismatics here in Commons (Commons:WikiProject Numismatics (as in many languages: italian, french, russian ...). I'm from Rome.

Hi T8612. Theyr names as Roman moneyers are here. In Roman period the moneyers magistrati was always three, called Tres viri Auro Argento Aere Flando Feriundo (III VIR. A.A.A. F.F.). --DenghiùComm (talk) 11:25, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hi. The table does say that only Nerius minted the coin (under "moneyer" at number 441), as well as Michael Crawford (Roman Republican Coinage, p. 460). The references to "Cornelia" and "Claudia" in the table come from Babelon, a numismatist of the 19th century who misinterpreted the inscriptions on the coin, and thought Cornelius and Claudius were also moneyers (they were consuls).
Moneyers were three per year under the Republic, but they rarely minted coins together (each minted their own coins). I think it is misleading to keep their name in categories here (I would neverhteless agree to keep Cornelia and Claudia as Babelon used them, but certainly not "Coins by C. Claudius Marcellus" and "Coins by L. Cornelius Lentulus Crus"). T8612 (talk) 11:48, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
- But at number 445 you have the two consuls as moneyers in year 49 BC. --DenghiùComm (talk) 12:08, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, but it is a denarius minted during the civil war between Pompey and Caesar, and Crawford notes (p. 462) that "The issue should be regarded as military and irregular". The coin I uploaded is a "regular" issue. T8612 (talk) 12:17, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
- Ok. Thank you. Best regards, --DenghiùComm (talk) 13:52, 25 January 2019 (UTC)

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2018 is open!
[edit]Dear T8612,
You are receiving this message because we noticed that you voted in R1 of the 2018 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in the second round. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2018) to produce a single Picture of the Year.
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.
There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked.
In the final (and current) round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2018.
Round 2 will end 17 March 2019, 23:59:59.
Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 18:05, 16 March 2019 (UTC)
