Image Tagging Image:Old Parish Church Hamilton.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Old Parish Church Hamilton.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find all your uploads using the Gallery tool. Thank you. skINMATE 22:52, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Great pictures but...
[edit]How you do copyrights is unclear. Since you seem to upload your own photos just use the templates such as Template:PD self that show you, the uploader, are the copyright holder and not another user on Flickr. And thanks for the great photos, I just don't want them to be deleted. gren 10:17, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. Please remember that all uploads require source, author and license information. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you. --Siebrand 17:31, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Teapoy.jpg. This image is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Using your photo
[edit]Hello
I am writing to you as part of the team in the Scottish Government which runs the website www.Scotland.org.
As part of our promotion of Robert Burns this month, we are in the process of compiling a map of the earth marked with all the places where Robert Burns statues stand. This animated map will be on our website mentioned above and will remain there indefinitely. We came across your photograph of the Edinburgh Burns monument and with your permission would love to use it on our map. We would of course be more than happy to credit it with your name.
Please let me know if you would be content for your photo to be used on the map by emailing me at info@scotland.org
Thanks and best wishes
Amy Brennan
Notification about possible deletion
[edit]Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.
If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |
