File:SAMSON 2020 R3.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

- I'm the CEO of OneAngstrom, developers of SAMSON, and I uploaded this file. Stephane Redon (talk) 16:30, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Stephane,
- I adjusted the tag on this file to explain how to make the formal license release. I un-deleted the image for the next week while you work on it. DMacks (talk) 11:29, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, I have uploaded another image. Hopefully I correctly indicated the license in the new image File:SAMSON_2021.png. Stephane Redon (talk) 12:28, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- That new file has the same concern as the other one: on the commons website, where anyone can create an account with any user-name. So nobody knows if you are who you say you are, and for something with legal implications like license/copyright, that actually is important. The software/website isn't open-licensed, so either
- The SAMSON website needs to have a screenshot that is accompanied by a declaration that the specific screenshot is open-licensed
- or
- You need to file a declaration via COM:VRT attesting that you actually do have permission to upload this file with the open license.
- DMacks (talk) 18:18, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks, I have filed a declaration from my email address at OneAngstrom, so I hope this will be sufficient. Stephane Redon (talk) 18:26, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- That sounds correct. I have no idea how backlogged the permissions queue is, but if a file gets deleted before they handle it, it's just as easy to un-delete it once they are ready. DMacks (talk) 18:56, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks. By the way, I have sent you an email regarding notability. Best, stephane Stephane Redon (talk) 19:03, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
